Chris just clean the barrel, a light clean then put 1000 pellets thru her before you do anything to it, let things break in and smooth out then make the necessary adjustments. Put a little lube in the areas that move, trigger, mag lever and cocking lever, you know stuff like that. If its a long I would go with the H&N 21.3gn the JSB will be flying over 960fps. but you can try the JSB. I think they will be too hot, then maybe not, you just have to have fun seeing.
Anyone know how the AT44 like eunjin? I'm wondering if I should try the 25 JSB or 30gr Eunjin.
Apparently I got the last refurb .22 AT44 long since they're now sold out. http://www.airgunproshop.com/hatsan-airguns/viewcategory.php?groupid=14You have to love early birthday and Christmas presents. It will be my first purpose built rifle PCP. Hopefully the 2240 won't get jealous. Now I just need a LDC and to upgrade scope. I'm starting with a Hawke 4-12x50, but I want a Hammers 4-16x50 FFP side focus, since I can't afford a sidewinder.Any other tips for what to do to it out the box other than clean the barrel?Chris
Did you get that gun thru Rick from Hatsan? I got one from him last month and it was brand new. Plastic case had a slight little worn spot, and forestock had a couple smudges like a couple dirty hand marks, the trigger, action, barrel, clips, sling, air cylinder were totally new, even got 4 clips and a free tin of Votrex Supreme pellets. My AT44 (.22) lives for Kodiak 21, xx out to 30/35 yards. 50 yards JSB18, xx. No need to rezero scope at 50 yards the lighter 18, xx JSBs just take over. Set x out on 16x and Parallax to 50/60. Anything beyond that I reach for a .25 Galation to 75 yards, past that out comes the BT65 (.25). The right Hatsan for the job. BTW , .25 Hatsans use .25, 4 JSB Or AA 25.4 both equal Be Well,GatorPS walmart had or my still have , .25 Benjie junk pellets for seasoning your barrel for $7 buck a tin. No shipping if you have shipped to store. The ones I got were pertty trashy with junk cast inside skirts, but perfect for breaking in new barrel on the cheap. Think they were like 27g.
I got it in the mail yesterday. Looks pretty good except for the sites. They're fubar'd. The front is missing the fiber optic and the rear has one side of the site broken. I'm going to be putting the scope on it, but you'd think they would have looked at the rifle before shipping it out. The butt is also adjusted to whoever bought it. I would think to refurb they would actually return it to stock condition. This looks like they just took it back from someone and mailed it to me without touching it.
I emailed rick. Thanks! How do I clean the barrel on an AT44? Do I have to fully disassemble it?
