392 air leak?

My 392 is shooting great but at ten pumps not all the time I will have air leak through the muzzle. I did some valve work on it and I thought I cleaned up all the rough spots before I put valve back in. Kind of think the o ring sealed on the valve may have a Nick in it. Hate to tear it down again but that's how it goes. I have noticed if I cock it first and then pump it won,t do it. It Will dump all air at ten pumps. Any way any thoughts about my problem would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Some do leak until they are cocked. It is usually related to a light valve spring or a heavy hammer spring. Use the halfcock and it will pump. Pull the bolt back about an 1/8" and you will hear a click. It should then pump.

It holds air with no problems and 90 percent of the time pumps up fine. Not going to worry to much about it. I pumped it up twelve pumps today five times in a row with out any problems, I am cocking it before pumping also. Mike
