I had a Benjamin 392 delivered from PA yesterday, couldn't pass on the 20% off sale. I also ordered a Williams 5D-SH peep sight with it and had them do the 10 for $10. I got to shoot it yesterday at 10 yds. with the peep sight. With the sight in its lowest position, it was shooting 2.5" high, left and right was good. Since my last chrony was shot in the heart, the 10 for $10 from PA gave me the number of pumps and the fps for one specific pellet on a printout. This morning I went out to my 10" lathe and turned a new aperture out of black nylon. After I turned it, I chucked in a 4 jaw to read .120" T.I.R., center drilled, and drilled a .062 thru hole. I installed the aperture with thru hole at the lowest point in the bracket hole. This brought the line of sight to the point of impact at 10 yds. It was simple and quick way to make the rifle and sight combination work.BobH.Now to find it favorite pellet. All this pellet sampling is good exercise with a pumper.
I love mine as well... CONGRATS!Interesting about your peep, my elevation is about centered but had to put a thin washer on the mounting screw between it and the breech to shift it to the right enough.
On my 397 the Williams peep shoots about .5 inch high at about 10 yards with 3 pumps. Close enough but the peep is bottomed out against the top of the receiver. I'd like a smaller aperture for it though.
Scott,Raising the front sight lowered my point of impact, it was shooting 2 .5 inched high at 10 yds. By raising the front sight higher that the amount needed to correct the sight picture it allowed my to raise the rear sight also. Now I do not have to force the comb into my cheek to have a sight picture" BobH.{quote author=longhunter link=topic=109422.msg1067876#msg1067876 date=1468082340]You're half right raising the rear sight is the same as lowering the front.Raising the front is the same as lowering the rear. And as usual, you've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're only half there .
