relax my friend, it will shoot those 457/195 grain bullets, dead nut out to 75 yards, they say 457 hornady round ball work well , but see this is half the fun of the 909, shooting different bullets, balls ,till you find that special one, until you have it tuned, i would not go over 200 gr,velocity just not there to flatten the projectile, epp's and bbt's work great in the gun as well,,stock gun, now my 909 s light hunter, loves those 195, and the 460/330 gr, but it is power tuned,i am hitting 400fpe,fist shot only, get 3 usable shots, but there deadly accurate shots with that bullets inside 75 yards, testing the gun is where the fun come's in, once you learn to mold your on bullets, it only increase.s the excitement of shooting something you made, yeeehaw. pm me for the number for the 457 /195 gr mold , if you desire to make some for yourself, you can also venture to the mr hollow point site for some really nice bullets for your new baby, costly a bit,but hey if it works for ya, it works, remove rear site, 50mm scope at max, or keep site there get a 3x12x44 sao swat leapers and mediun rings, and your set, can go higher and have peep site view with high rise rings with hole, but myself, i would go the leapers swat, and put a laser on it for shots close in,but that's just me,,,lol good luck brother, and you know you can pm me anytime you need too.
I have some Mr Hollowpoint bullets, .457 214 and 255, they really don't shoot that well in my 909s. The Whyte EPP-UG's are exceptional, though. If you want to try some of the mr hollowpoint rounds, pm me and I'll send you a few, I don't plan on using them at this point. As far as scopes, I've been real happy with a hawke scope . Its small, light, and plenty enough magnification for deer hunting.
Hey Steveoh I put a Leapers AO 3-9x40 scope with Leapers Accushot 1-Pc Bi-directional Offset Mount w/1" Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail from PA. Part # PY-A-2409 and works very well with any of my scopes without removing any sights.
I had Will Piatt bore out the lead on mine when he tuned it, so the EPP-UG's seat better. If they are the ones from Mark Whyte, they re as cast and not sized.
Hey Stevo, I cast my own and use a Lee resizer at .457. Works really well, boolits are easier to press in the breech lead, but have to use a little force....can push them in flush with my fingers...
Got my press and .457 sizer. Sized all 200 Whyte EPP-UG's as well as the samples that supertech77 so kindly sent me. They are still a bear to get seated. Do I have a defective barrel? Or should I be using .454 sized ammo? Or do I need to start lifting weights? Scratching head. Thanks for input...Steveoh

Hey Steveoh...mabey post a pic. Will compare with mine. You also should slug the barrel.
