Some more feedback from me.I was somewhat surprised to find that going down to six on the power did NOT substantially increase my shot-count before I got down to 2K. Much the same at 4!At two - as low as it goes - it looks like I'm going to get about 25 shots from 3K down to 2K - does that sound right?? Clearly I cannot get any more shots out of the gun without some mod. However, going all the way down to two barely reduced my velocity - Kodiaks still shot around 910 fps.So, you guys who told me the Condor SS wastes air at high power were quite right. Also, though the Beeman trigger is really nice, the Condor trigger is not bad. I was able to acclimate to it pretty quickly. The pull is still too hard - I find myself pulling the gun - but I think that is adjustable.Over 50 FPE at the muzzle easily. Man, this is a powerful airgun.
Top hat adjustments and the o-ring may be able to help you out. I recommend tuning with the o-ring and oem top hat. Adjusting that and playing with fill pressure/pw settings may help you find a better ratio to get a bit more shots. Other wise Kodiaks at 910 fps is exactly what I shoot (well I shoot Barracuda's same difference). It's a solid 57-58 fpe. And I only use 20 shots for a tight Extreme Spread for long range.

And a reference on how to install them? What do you mean by playing with fill settings? Is there a point to filling to something under 3K PSI?Thanks! </annoying-newbie>
I mean playing with fill pressures by every time you adjust the PW and/or adjusting top hat, your optimal fill pressure will be lower or higher. It would be up to you and a chrony to find it. I usually aim for a bell curve of ~20 fps, give or take and limit my shot count to 20 to reduce pumping/keeping Extreme Spread minimal.
I meant to say pump the Condor up AGAIN today. I did it twice, and it's taking me 190 pumps or so on the AF pump. Yes, 400 pumps on that thing. My triceps were sore after doing this Thursday. I have to get a tank, at least. Maybe not a compressor, but a scuba tank.

Quote from: SaltwaterSlick on August 20, 2014, 08:59:21 PMI had the same problem with my CondorSS in getting a good cheek weld. I put one of the TT tank adapters with the offset. That was a BIG improvement, plus with the offfset, you can take the tank off easily if need be. Also, I'm shooting about 920 fps with the JSB's and I get 40+ shots in that range. I pump up to 2800 and down to 2000 before refill. Power wheel on 4 with a TT top hat and smallest restrictor. These things have way too much power to shoot just out of the box without wasting over 50% of the air. They are scary accurate! My longest shot so far is 113 yard shot on a turtle.Another comment about wasting air - again, I read the manual, and noted that while it says the Talon & other guns waste air at high settings, the Condor does not. Is the manual wrong? I could believe that, but I'm just wondering if there's evidence for that.920 fps in what caliber? You must have a good rangefinder to make a shot at 113 yards! And don't you have to hit a turtle in the head? Seriously?

One more thing - as for being a "trigger snob", while the Condor trigger is not terrible by any means, the fact is that shooting the Beeman RX-2 trigger is a joy in comparison. Simple fact. Hey, if I'd never seen a more attractive woman, I might be happy being married to Rosie O'Donnel, but reality intervened in that equation as well. Now, again, lifting the Beeman feels like lifting two Condors, so there you go! Nothing's perfect.(Then again, a Condor SS with a Maddog stock and great trigger might be perfect...)
