I like, a lot, everything about this airgun except the heavy trigger pull weight. Must be over 4 pounds! Removed the stock and trigger spring block. Replaced the short, stiff spring with one of several ink pen springs I keep around for this purpose. Not the softest one I have though.
Lubed the spring and the 'piston' the spring fits into which slides into the brass block and has a fork that catches the rear of the trigger blade. Also put moly paste on the hammer/sear interface. Have about 50 problem free shots through it so far and it seems to have reduced the pull weight by a pound or so which is a welcome change.

I also have a Racine 397 and have considered putting a weaker spring in the block behind the trigger. I haven't done it yet because the trigger on my rifle is pretty good as is.
There is a spring that goes in the stock that's under where the trigger hooks the hammer. I've heard that removing the entire block and spring behind the trigger and only using the spring in the stock improves the trigger the best. I don't know but you may want to give it a try.
