Anyone know what diameter steel ball and springs are for the through-stock cross-bolt safety?According to the Crosman repair manual, part numbers are105-39 ball105-40 springSame parts are used for breech bolt on other Crosman models. Seems these would be commonly available since they are so easy to lose, but I have not found a source for them. Any ideas?
I've always used the new delrin one that came in the kit. Tim normally puts an X with a sharpie on the side that goes up/ facing the valve. I've often heard of guys putting it there and using a wooden dowel and a hammer, give it a good whack to seat it. Or putting a wooden dowel in your drill and applying enough pressure to make it spin to seat it. I've never done either of these and never had a leaker. If the gun will not dump all 8 pumps when fired, you can put the valve spring in a vice and give it a good squeeze until all the coils touch each other. Another common mistake is the direction the hammer goes in... the beveled end goes towards the hammer spring, not towards the valve. Ah what the heck... one more.. The collar for the striker pin.. if you look at the threaded hole you'll see it is located closer to one end than the other. The end with the hole closest to it goes towards the valve. These are common mistakes made by folks on the first and second tear down... go ahead.. ask me how I know.
cuz, I read it on the internet... bonjiour.
