Air tank leaking

Being new these kind of air guns (PCP) I think I let my air tank get to low. Sorry, getting ahead of myself. I have an older Hammerli Pneuma with an FX pump. I think I let the air pressure get to low. On my last shot it drained the tank to zero. After taking the gun apart and searching the web I think the problem is with the air tank. After pumping forever I could get it to around 150 Bar, pulled the fill probe out and it started leaking at the valve end. I don't think the valve is stuck, when at 0 Bar I can push the little pin in and come right back out, seems to be free. Any help would be great, love this gun, up to this point it has been a great shooter. I got it with almost a full tank so I never had to fill it until now.

Normally I'd figure out exactly what's leaking. But that tube's o-rings are getting old, and likely opening it up and fixing one thing would lead to other leaks. If I went in there, would want to replace all the O-rings/vave seal and be done with it.
But you can find the leak, even if you can only pressurize it to 50psi, by just dunking the ends of the air tube into a glass of water and looking very closely at where you see bubbles.
Are 5 places it could leak.
Front (fill port) end:
1. Could leak at the gauge.
2. Could leak back out of the fill port.
3. Could leak at the joint of the end cap and the air tube.
Rear (valve stem) end:
1. If it leask out of the vavle ports, then the valve stem seal is bad (shown as a "B" in a picture below). It's not the valve stem itseld (wihc is one piece of metal), but the little Delrin "donut" seal it seats into that goes bad...and even then, it's almost always the tiny little o-ring around that seal that leaks rather than the seal itself.
Valve stem seal:
2. Could leak at the joint of the valve body and air tube (shown as an "A" in a picture below).
The old Pneuma air tubes/valves did not have built in falts to put a wrench on (ONLY when the tube is 100% empty). The new valve bodies do. So I had to file two flats to get a wrench on the valve end of my old Pneuma tube.
Old tube:
New tubes have the wrench flats built in:
Also am a bit suspect of the old Hatsan tubes. I had to take my original Pneuma tube out of service when I found that it was noticeable swollen in the middle.
Will hunt up a parts site...or one of the other posters will help out and post it before I get back.
Good news is that even if you were to replace the entire air cylinder, it's about $90 (complete, ready to go).

Did you try having the gun cocked when you fill it, a lot of pcp's when completely empty you have to cock the gun or the air will just go right through the valve and out the barrel.

Thanks for the help. My tank has the flats for a wrench. I was trying to fill the tank with it out of the gun.

O-rings will need replacing with age...they are kind of like brake pads or tires on a car in that respect. They just get hard/prone to shrinkage and cracking with age and a high pressure environment.
Were I to open a tube up of that age, would want to replace all the O-rings, figuring they were all assembled at the same time and have the same issues.
The fill port end could be a problem. The old tubes don't make getting the gauge off easy. The newer tubes have a rotating right used as a fill port cover...the old tubes have a separate plug for the fill probe. Newer tubes are better about getting to the gauge than the old ones.
Old tank to the right/newer tank to the left (both well used):
This will likely help:

May be an old rifle, out of date, and a single shot, but she still gets a good bit of use...so you aren't the only one keeping these oldies alive:

I was taking the air tank apart when I noticed there is a bulge/ripple in the middle of the tube. I assume this tube is now unsafe and a new one is in order?
