Just personally, I don't like those see thru scope mounts. As was similarly suggested up above, if you mount a scope, you "don't" do so with the intent of using open sights...
But the real reasons I don't like them are - 1).. see-thru mounts probably aren't as strong or rigid as a solid mount because they have great holes in their bodies (to see through),, and 2).. to see through them, they usually need to be higher or all you'll see is the objective bell up front of the scope, right..!!,, but also with that extra height comes the intersecting lines thing, that is, you get sharper line of sight angles that cut through the pellets trajectory curve on a more acute angle because you are now looking downwards onto that trajectory,, if you get my drift,, OR,, if you'd like an exaggerated version to make it clearer, if you mounted a scope 6" (150mm) or 8" (200mm) above the barrel, you'd be now looking down quite a bit, wouldn't you..??. The intersceting lines (line of sight vs trajectory) would be good for a very small zeroing in margin, amd MRT (Mid Range Trajectory) would become unusable as the height would begin to increase too much with the mount height.
Ideally, a scope should be mounted as close to the barrel/receiver height as possible, but then again you have barrel droop or lift and other such things to think about with an air rifle, but a lower mounted scope should be a better all-round proposition..
