Saw them refurbed the other day so ordered one for $109. Stock does not particularly turn me on but usable. The power plant on the other hand seems potent. On the Chrony getting 1214 fps from the CPHP (7.9) 25.85 FPE. On the H&N Crowmagnum (8.
I'm getting 1114 fps for 24.25 fpe. The CPHPs are out of the question as the neighbors are only going to put up with so many rifle shots and they all come out supersonic. The H&Ns do not come out supersonic however it seems to me that they are coming out somewhat hot. I happened to have some CP Magnums (10.5) so I gave them a go not expecting much. The magnums however gave 1065 fps for 26.45 fpe. Surprised me and got me to thinking. Should I continue testing for the best fpe by moving up in weight and in theory down in speed with the intent to find the ideal accuracy along with fpe? What does one suppose the ideal pellet and weight is for this rifle? Seems pretty potent for a .177.
At any rate thought I would post up my results with this rifle as of this time. The rifle has about 150 pellets through it and the scope is not mounted as I would like not to break it right away. Am thinking 500 or so pellets down the road. Using the hard sites on a bullseye of 1.5 inches at 25 yards I can put all rounds (after adjustment) on target however again the rifle is a refurb and I am not sure how that would have effected it. It kicks hard into my shoulder when fired but not alot of barrel movement. When I say hard it makes ones shoulder sore after a bit. It is twangy so I need to fix that. Substantially more effort is involved in cocking it when compare to my Bigcat, RWS 34 or my sons RS2. It is also a long rifle when compared to the others. For the money, not a bad buy in my opinion. Now if I can find the ideal pellet weight and design hunting/target. Take Care All.

It did not occur to me when I posted but the stock has two screws rather than the four. I would suspect it was sent back due to a cracked stock. The refurb was most likely a stock replacement with a two screw stock. Thanks to Thekid for bringing this to my attention.

Congrats on your new shooter.
Sounds like a cannon! With magnum power rifles like this I like to use H&N Baracudas 10.65 grains. Many times the groups close up when you slow that pellet down.

congrats on the Walther talon,i ordered a falcon hunter 3 days ago in ,22cal,and i already have a ruger magnum in .177cal,and like your talon its a brute, won,t shoot anything under 10,5gr,below supersonics, and the 10.5gr cpdm are right at the supersonic doorstep ,might want to try the eunjin 16.8gr .177cal,but people say not a steady diet, because the spring may wear out to early, don,t know for sure, not a gun tech, but i do know with these real magnum pellet rifles eunjins stay under the sound barrier, and the fpe is killer, blows up 5/8 plywood at 119 yards, goe,s right threw, small in large out,my ruger love,s them, but they are a long domed pellet, good luck and welcome aboard the GTA.
