Thanks, Tim, for answering my post. I know I wasn't seeing any real benefits from what I had done. I appreciate it. I don't have what I need at hand to cut the threads. How many is a "few threads"? Mark2-3 TimThe best I could do is a hacksaw, which would probably not turn out right. If I just shortened the check valve, would that make it easier to pump and still let me keep the same volume, or a little greater, that I already have. MarkYes. Reducing check vaLVE LENGTH WILL REDUCE SPRIONG TENSION AND INCREASE VOLUME BOTH. TimI know what an eighth is on a ruler, but how much is .1? Mark.125" is an 1/8" so .1 is 20% smaller than an 1/8" Tim It seems like a shaving. Another post says "modestly". I don't have access to any precision machines. I do have 2 brass valves now. The original was half (the front part) brass and the back (exhaust) aluminum. I ruined the threads on the aluminum exhaust, not lining it up ritht. I got the replacement exhaust valve from Crosman and now have a spare that I haven't touched. I can pump it alright now, but easier would be nice. Maybe others would be curious as to whether this would work or not. I read from a post you had made on another board sometime back about shortening the check valve by half and shortening the main spring and the hammer spring, but must have found a better, easier way. MarkSteroids get the hammer spring and the check valve shortened but the valve spring stays the same. I take 3 threads off and cut the step back that guides the check, cut an extra oring groove and I recuit the valve seat and ports. TimI really do appreciate the comment. I'm in the learning process now. I'm new to airguns.P.S. I really would like to buy a Rocker Sheridan Blue Streak if I could find one in decent shape. Tim, do you sell them or just the new ones?Mark
I used an Exacto knife. ....My 392 is drop dead accurate, but the pump linkage feels like it will give out when I pump more than 4 or 5 times. Not so with the Dan.
