How accurate can a Benji. 392 be from a rest, scoped, and out to about 30yds. If you have pictures that would really help. Thank you.

Only tried out to 20 yards and that gave me penny sized group.

i would say a good shooter,good scope,good 39x....1 inch or less at 40 yards.
ive seen lots of threads of some benji's that arent great.
i returned one after only 50 rounds because it would put all my rounds 1.5 inches to the right every shot at 10 yards.
clean straight barrel.some suggest that the coating on the gun(at the muzzle may be thicker on one side causing an air disturbance shifting pellets to 1 side)
but im not messing with one.
and forget those crappy benji scope mounts,my mounts new wouldnt hold onto the barrel.once i got them to hold the barrel, then the scope would creep on the mounts.
benji's arent what they used to be.
on the other hand my brother has 1 thats dead on out to 80 yards open sights.....but he had to return his first 2 392's before getting a good one.
not trying to steer you away from them, just be sure everything is good before the return policy is up.
39x series are very accurate if you find a good one.
reliable power aswell.

Sub-dime size groups at 25 yards, sitting cross-legged on the ground, left elbow on left knee.
Had to clean a lot of paint out of the barrel before it shot like this!
NC-Star 2-7x32 pistol scope, Weaver .22 tip-off rings and Benji 4-piece mounts. Rock solid scope mounting. Dropped the rifle on its butt once on a concrete floor. Cracked the butt plate, but the scope never moved or lost zero.

The 392 appears to be highly inherently-accurate.
Attempted 100-yards today; hammered a pepsi can with the first shot. Only off of center by an inch, for which I blame my imperfect stability. Firing crosman premier hollowpoints, I'm getting consistent bullseye hits out to 30-yards, and fairly consistent 2" groups at 50 considering my lack of a rest. What more can you ask for?

I agree with all above.... Normally with my pumpers I sight them in at fifty hards... Then I adjust to range with the number of pumps.. Three of my four rifles are 'Billet Steroid' modified by Tim at Mac1 Airguns and will clear 13-14 pumps making approximately 23ftlbs... I have a refurb 392 that just barely clears the factory recommended 8 pumps... With all of these guns I pump 8 pumps for 50 yards.... However with the 'Steroids' I can use the additional 6 pumps for a particular reason like longer range with no holdover(Kentucky windage) or on the chance you need to eliminate a pest or hunting. When pumped to max pumps (14) my rifles shoot about 6" higher at 50 yards compared to 8 pumps... Initially getting the paint out of the muzzle is the most important thing.. Acetone and Qtips worked the best for me but let me recommend holding the rifle muzzle DOWN to keep whatever paint removing agent you use from running and ruining the painted finish on the barrel or pump tube.. While you are working removing paint in the area I like to remove the paint. From where the crown(chamfer on the end of barrel) is painted. That way you can inspect one of the next most important areas. Carefully inspect the cut of the muzzle crown for ANY defects or imperfectios.. Normally I lap the crowns on my guns, I lap, clean, shoot, lap, clean shoot, looking for improvement. If you get through all of that the next area of attention is the trigger, there are some postings and links here for trigger work and mods.... Good luck!!!! Greg

I don't usually paper punch with my 392, but I can get some great target groups when I do, It stacks at 20 yards with a FT style shooting position.

they are capable of consistant 1 inch grouping at 50 yards, which is the standard I PERSONALLY go by.
Sure a few shots fly, due to me, wind, pellets, etc......
But paint cleaned from bore, rested, scoped, trigger contact points polished, using Barracuda's......1inch at 50 yds is the norm for me.
It too, is a Mac-1 hotrod....a billet sterioded benji. Integrabase equipped, so scoping and ergonomics and looks are fine.
It is primarily a hunting gun, and will dump 13 pumps of air, for ~22 ftlbs of energy.
I have had a FEW guns that would shoot 1 inch groups consistantly at 50 yds.
Several spring guns---but even the MILDEST of them still had more recoil than the Steroid, and all had considerably LESS available power.
I have had and still have c02/pcp guns that will group 1 inch at 50, but they are all tethered to carts, tanks, or external pumps.
ONLY gun I have ever owned capable of those groups, with NO recoil, and self contained.
IF you can hit your first shot (yes, this is about the shooter) you will not need another inside of 50.....
Accuracy at 50? 1 inch consistantly, sometimes 1.5, sometimes .75....but consistantly covered by a quarter.
Yep, this dog WILL hunt.
God bless,
Farmer
