685 FPS at 8 pumps is what they advertise, so you've got good numbers.

My 2005 392pa did I think barely over 600fps with 8 pumps. My 392LE did about 620fps with 8 pumps. My C9 does 640 with 8 pumps. All of the above are with 14.3 gr. Premiers.
Haven't Chronied my 342 yet.
I would be very very pleased to have a gun that got 680 with 8 pumps. That's almost 15fpe. Great job.

Thanks Billy. Mine was with the cossmans also. Have been in and out of this gun now a couple of dozen times so it's been a great learning project. Tried a few things that did not work out but finnaly hit on the right combo. Did a trigger job that I must say made me a bit big headed, real simple trigger to work on. Thanks again. I would really like to hear from some shooters who,s 392s shot out of the box at 685 with the crossmann pellets. Maybe with light alloys. Wolfer

Not sure what to think about that video. Will say his attention to pumping, needs work. Not very consistent and deliberate. Boy that clanking, smh! He definitely holds the rifle at the grip and pumps away. He does not believe in softening the force of his forearm smashing his pump tube. What's more annoying his pumping or that darn rooster?

Actually I hold it at the breech, not the grip. The reason it sounds so loud is this was immediately after working on the valve, and I had added a second o-ring between the valve halves to reduce headspace. I went too far, so it was hard to close. After I shot this video I went back into it and readjusted that.
Oh, and also, the camera's audio circuit amplifies those kinds of noises. It's called AGC; Automatic Gain Control. Ever notice how a cellphone pulls in and amplifies background noise? Same concept.
As for the rooster, I live in a rural area. That means I get to hear roosters, ducks, dogs, cattle, gunfire, ATVs and dirt bikes, etc. The upside is that I get to make my own contributions to those noises, up to and including Tannerite.
Another upside is that I don't have to listen to heavy traffic, sirens, and other noises that I hear when I visit the city.
