Finally building my 1322
«

I am finally building my 1322 after it just sitting for a year and a half. The goal is to turn it into a 12 FPE or more rifle that is accurate to at least 25 or so yards. The items on my list are:
-Flat top piston and valve
-Metal barrel band
-Steel Breech
-24" barrel
-Shoulder stock and scope
Is that all I'd need to achieve this?

You have a good looking list of items.
I would go for a .22 14" LW from Crosman and add a Rocker1 Slip on LDC.
Look in to doing some trigger work a smooth and lighter trigger will help with accuracy too.

I imagine the LW barrel would make it a tack driver, but would the 10" shorter length hurt velocity very much?

What kind of power and accuracy could I expect from a 14" LW compared to a 24" Crosman barrel?

Rule of thumb is 10 fps per inch, give or take.

Even with just the steel breech, skeleton stock, and scope of choice, I find my 1377 and 1322 very nice shooters. That's with the stock 10.5" barrels too.

Beyond a certain point, 18" give or take, you start losing velocity because of drag. The give or take is how much power is being delivered from piston and cup, valve, tp, springs, and hammer.
Now accuracy, you are guaranteed to have an accurate barrel from LW. Crosman can be hit or miss, but I've had and have some very accurate barrels through them. If you have a really accurate Crosman barrel a LW barrel can't be more accurate. It either hits it's mark or it doesn't. You just spent more money for it.

I might just try to find a 16 or 18 inch barrel from eBay or something. I really want to stick with .22 cal and make it put out 12 fpe easily.

Tonight I ordered an 18" barrel from eBay, a flat top piston from Crosmods, a flat top valve, stainless roll pin and rigid backpacker barrel band from Alchemy Airwerks and a steel Breech from Amazon. The stock will be soon to follow.

I have an old 1377 with either a 16 or 18" .22 cal barrel, don't remember which, airgunsmith flat top piston and flat top valve, crosman steel breech, extended bolt probe, and I'm not sure what all other mods (I didn't build - had it built) and it does 651fps with 15 pumps with 14.3g premiers, so thats almost 13.5 fpe - so 12 fpe is definitely doable
