Mongoose Hunt done, but.......
Nomadic Pirate:
Today I went to set up a blind and bait for an upcoming Mongoose hunt I will be doing with my Storm .30
I made a blind using a boulder as the front section
for the right side and back I used downed branches
Looking from inside the blind to the bait area
From inside the blind looking right
I left the left side open in case I have to exit and stalk a passing porker ;D
The inside of the blind is very comfortable, I placed a flat rock as a seat and the boulders behind work great as armrests ;D ;D
Now the bait.
Distance is 24 paces, I strung a wire between 2 trees, I used wire because there's a chance pigs will come to this bait, also Peacocks are very likely to come in,
I than attached a couple of fish skins and dropped fish scraps and some cat food too.
I built a wall with branches and rocks so the animals coming to the bait have to stay in front and can't drag it behind the trees
I will be baiting every 2-3 days,
I have plenty fish and several Roosters in the freezer,....looking to hunt it next Thursday, I will be filming it and it's planned for mongoose but I can expect both Peacocks and Hogs to possibly come in.
