Being new to piston pellet rifles, is it ok to fire the heaviest .22 pellet in the NP2? I do not know why I want to do this, but being an old .45/70 guy, it is something that interests me.

You can it just will wear a little more on the piston/seal area than a normal pellet. What weight is heavy to you? I shoot H&N Baracuda 21gr out of mine just fine, I think JSB makes a heavier one. The only other option for heavier would be custom made or those PCP cylindrical pellets. They make those super heavy, I think H&N has a line out of them too. I just don't know how well a cylindrical pellet will shoot from a break barrel.

However, the information on the link above say they should not be used in a gas piston.
