I'm a new member here (as well as new to airguns) and have already done my share of picking your collective brains. I thought I would take a minute to share something with everyone. I read constantly, especially from new gunners - we were all there once -questions about the best way to keep the exterior metal of firearms/airguns from corroding. Read on...
I have carried concealed here in South Texas (heat + humidity = sweat) for many years and always have been running behind the curve to keep the areas of my firearm exposed to my body's hear and sweat from corroding. RemOil, CLP, MilTech, MP7, Ballistol...I've tried them all with vary degrees of success, constant application, and stains on my clothes. Then I came across, on the internet of course - I' not taking claim for any new discovery - people talking about Renaissance Microcrystalline Wax. I read about it, read about it some more, and them read about it some more (I'm a little too fussy when it comes to the care of my firearms) and then bought some. That was three years ago and the corrosion, clothing stains, and constant application are gone.
Look it up on line both as a product and its use in preserving, particularly, firearms. An 65 ml/8 oz. can isn't the cheapest thing in the world ($13 and change on Amazon) but that much will last for several years. Check it out and make up your own minds.

I've been using Renaissance Wax for a little over a year now and it works very well. It's a great all weather protectant. A little goes a long way

I've known about it forever, but only considered it for guns in long-term storage, or...if I were the sort to display my guns, which I am not. With my blued carry gun, I am wiping it down at least every other day or so. I have been most pleased with Eezox in this regard.
How often to you 'clean', or at least re-wax your carry piece with the Ren-wax? Maybe this would make more sense on the break-barrel.

Great stuff! I thought that everyone knew about this stuff already. It's great for a lot of material applications and it works great on firearms. It must be good if museums use it on their stuff!

Good thing this thread went up - it's time to bust out the Renaissance for some gun polishing soon.
I plan on using this stuff on my guitar this weekend, I just noticed my sweat is eating into the wood
This stuff is great on wood and metal.
