Airforce Condor .25 on the way

Waiting on the Brown Truck again...
Just scored an Airforce Condor .25 for $549.00 plus free shipping from Midway. Really want something lighter than my BT65 Elite for those long (6-8 mile) hunting excursions, and the Condor seems like just what I am looking for. I really love the BT65, but if the Condor lives up to my expectations, the BT may show up on the Classifieds in the near future...

That's a good price ,with the LW barrels they are very powerful and accurate shooters.I have a .25 condor with the 24" barrel and I haven't even thought about getting another pcp.Plenty of power for yotes with slugs or polymags for squirrels.

Thanks John, as a high schooler in Northwest Tennessee, it was not unusual to walk a few miles while hunting, and now at 60+ I still enjoy it but it takes much more determination...

Congrats! i have a Condor SS in .25 caliber, you should order two pellets. either the Beeman Kodiak, or kodiak match, or the HN Baracuda 31.02 (all the same pellets, the kodiak match are kind of sorted and cleaner supposedly), and the JSB KING 25.4 grain. Likely your gun will shoot the JSB's too fast, unless you O-ring mod the top hat, and/or buy the quick change top hat from Talon Tunes and restrict it down. the Baracudas gave me 60+ FPE in a bone stock rifle, cranked up. you should expect literally only about 10-20 shots bone stock before FPS drops. the O-ring behind the tophat helps that a little, but the new valve styles are just potty poor for shot count. it can be adjusted and tweaked, hope you have a big tank/compressor and a chrony!
Enjoy it and ask many questions if you have them. Myself and only1harry have a lot of experience with these guns, as does starlingassassin, and many others!

Thanks for reaching out Edward. I received the Condor, but have been out of town so haven't even had a chance to charge the tank yet. One of the first things I will need to do is add an LDC to quiet this beast down. I like the idea of the RL shroud, does anyone have any experience with this unit? As for pellets, I have had great success with both H&N Baracuda and the Kodiaks in .22 with my Hatsan BT65 Elite, so expect the same with the .25 cal Condor.
I love this forum for this very reason, experienced members willingness to assist those just starting out with a new airgun. Thanks again...

i own the RL shroud on my Condor SS with a 24" barrel. it works well. the machining is good. for the money i wasn't as satisfied, its not rough, but the finish is pretty lackluster... i paid a good bit for a Tube with threads at each end, 3 baffle cups, a threaded cap, and a barrel bushing. not saying it isn't worth it, but i was left.. a little, Wanting? as far as how good does it work? well... I can shoot in my back yard with it and not get neighbors irritated. so works well, but i think it might be a few dollars over priced. RL's stuff is great quality however, and they will stand behind there product.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, I think RL will be hearing from me. Their site says that the shroud is on sale right now, still higher than a TKO or some of the others, but it is a shroud and not just a plug on. My gun will be used mostly for hunting so looks will be secondary to how well it works, especially if they will stand behind the item.

Congrats on the new condor! They are a ton of fun unless your pumping it up from empty, that not worthy. I have an r&l shroud on my 22 cal condor and it works well. I hav mine set up for 43 fpe with 25.4 gr jsb and the impact is twice as loud as the shot. Only regrat i have was waiting so long to get one. Have fun with it and post pics.
