One more thing to keep in mind fellas.Sometimes POA_POI changes aren't caused by the scope either. In this thread the OP believes it is, & that's fine, but that's not always the case. A knock to the barrel or even a barrel that's not properly secured in the breech will cause all kinds of accuracy issues.
Thanks for all the advice, the springs needing to settle makes sense, however if this is happening I will be cut. My mate bought the same gun and his loses zero also. it's realy upsetting. It's no longer under warranty and that's another story, only had it 6months and had to change the valve over now this, my brand new pump leaks and I sent that back today. Pay more get less, get shafted hard. This is how Australia is going. I have no confidence in anything I buy anymore. I thought German made would be top quality but it's not. My wife will be chasing me round with the thing if I tell her it needs a new scope cos its a lemon. I'll just go give it a little tap tap tappy, just tap it in.
It is always best to give your scope a good wallop while changing POI, doesn't matter if it is cheaper or expensive, everything inside a scope works off friction and tension, the jolt makes sure that after you have turned the turret it all relaxes into place, there is no grease or lube inside where everything rides and sits! So, its better to jolt it now than find out later it moves POI after a couple jolting shots in the field.I have always been taught to give it a good whack from the best shooters around, after 40 years of varmint hunting at long distance it pays off, yes some scopes are better than others and will follow through but who cares, WHACK the stupid thing and make sure. After that final POI small adjustment may not need it.The only scope I ever had that I didn't feel like I needed to whap was a shepherd with 2 reticles it's purdy easy to see crosshairs move with each click.Oh yes and 3000 dollar scopes may be better but they still need to settle in!Have a good evening, William
Dang William I, I don't know how my post got in the middle of yours but I'm purdy sure that it's all your fault. Or may be I need another rezero??
