I like Teds accuracy review
I have a Trail Np2 (synthetic) and the original NP (wood).I've probably shot around 300 pellets through it at this point, and I don't feel like I've really "wrung it out" so to speak yet. However, it has recently stopped dieseling ( I think ) and the shot cycle has smoothed out and quieted down a bit. I'm not sure it's any quieter than the original NP but that's nothing to sneeze at. My dad says he can pass wind louder than the gun's shot noise . The fit and finish on mine were excellent, no rough edges and it was in perfect condition--I think it's a great looking gun. -As far as accuracy--I'm really not to a point where I can definitely say yet. So far I've shot CHP 14.3's, JSB Exact/jumbos (15 and 18gr?), and some H&N field target trophy 14.6gr. and they all shoot pretty decently--sometimes I'll put 3 or 4 pellets on top of each other then all of the sudden have a bad flier--not sure if it's my hold, the ammo, or the gun at this point.-The trigger is worlds away better than the original Trail NP. In fact,on my NP I upgraded the trigger to the GRT III. With the NP2, I see no need to change the trigger out.-I can't tell much of a difference between cocking either gun--neither is difficult to cock.-It definitely has more power than the original trail np. I did a very non-scientific test shooting at a target stuffed with magazines and the NP2 had much greater penetration. I've probably shot 5-6 squirrels with it so far and none of them survived to complain either.I ordered mine with the recent Pyramid Air promo where they included an upgraded (CP, 3-16 x 40 AO) scope and it works great--albeit it's kinda large and heavy. The negatives:-longer/heavier than the original NP TrailWith all that said, it seems to be a solid gun but not sure if it's worth the $$ to upgrade if you have the original trail. I'm still debating if I should keep mine or send it back and buy a completely different type of gun with my $250...like perhaps a Ruger 10/22 or save up for something entirely different.
maybe I'll just buy a Regal than.
thanks, so basically you are telling me that it's not all that different from the Gen I right ?maybe I'll just buy a Regal than.
