which bolt did you snap, the base bolt or one of the bolts that holds the scope in the rings?if you are snapping bolts on scope rings you may be over tightening a tad lol
I simply don't get this barrel bending thing that many people are into as a primary solution. Droop is built into guns for a reason. Droop compensating mounts take care of the droop so the "problem" is solved without having to find a calibrated tree fork.No offense intended to anyone into barrel bending. As I said before, I simply don't get it as a first choice. Last result yes, that makes a lot of sense.

Even bedding the bottom half of the scope ring with epoxy can correct the problem. JMO

Can you please point me to some instructions? Thanks. Is there a method to calibrating the epoxy compensation to the amount of droop? I found this but it doesn't mention droop; I think it is referring to misaligned rings for which reaming/lapping is the traditional fix: http://www.varminthunters.com/tech/scopebedding.html. And I wonder if 30mm rings would work better for bedding for a 1" scope tube. Embed shims?
http://www.burrisoptics.com/sigrings.htmlno shimming , barrel bending or guessing about how many degrees of angle to look for on a droop mount .
So I over-tightened my scope rings and snapped the bolt. On top of that, the scope ring isn't holding the scope right. Finally, the rifle I'm using has terrible droop. It's time to get a new set of adjustable rings. I'd like to get a set of rings that are sturdy and will allow for droop compensation.I was looking online and there are quite a few options. My absolute budget is $50, but I would like to spend a little less. Are there any recommendations from people?

Thanks. Do these come with varying inserts on will the one set allow compensation for most angles of droop we are likely to experience?
