Here it is, the GRT-4G trigger blade. Not the best pictures but I was in a hurry and it is getting late. ;) ;)
These pictures are shown without the adjustment hardware installed yet, just the bare trigger. Click on them to enlarge for a better look. Hope you like what you see. :) :)
As with the GRT-III, they will come assembled and pre-adjusted and with the new fatpin. We did find something out though and that is some of the covers use a small phillips screw while others use a #8 torx screw. The customer will need to provide the phillips screwdriver or the #8 Torx screw driver or bit. That said though, they are screwed into plastic and a person can take a small pocket blade screwdriver and grind it down just a tiny bit at a time to fit the screw and unscrew them. We did it to test it and it was no problem as they are not real tight due to being screwed into plastic and are so small. Take care not to over tighten the screws when reinstalling them as they will strip out fairly easily.
Also, as I mentioned previously on another post, they will be a little more expensive than the GRT-III trigger...by a whole $2.00. That will make them $34.00 shipped... ;D ;D Such a deal...lol...
The GRT-4G(amo) is designed to fit only the new Gamo guns that have the plastic triggers. It will fit all models of the Gamo's with the modular designed plastic trigger. IT WILL NOT FIT ANY OTHER GUNS BUT THE GAMO SO DON"T ASK... ??? ??? 8) 8)

SWEET!! I want 4:)
-
DO you have a gun fitting list?
-
Nice job Bob!
-
What a great price, what a beautiful trigger, what an incredibly fast turnaround time from design to production.. Thank You!
-
Please read the original post as it has more info and revisions.
It fits all of the Gamo rifles with the new modular trigger block and plastic trigger. If it has a plastic trigger, it will work.
Hey Reb...... it took me five months to iron this thing out. It was a "work on it when you have time" project. Got disgusted so many times and and started to give up on it a couple of times but then went back at it. Gene kept encouraging me and edging me on. Kept saying "The guys need it" and "Everybody is counting on you" and of course all of the members were backing me too so here we are.
Thanks everybody for your support. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have pursued it and would have given up a long time ago.

shootz that's a cute trigger lol

Your trigger in my Benjamin made a huge difference. I can't wait to try your trigger in my Big Cat. Thanks for your design work on these new triggers..... it really makes the difference between "just living with" the stock trigger to really enjoying shooting. I'll be making my order after they show up on your site.
-
Bob, you are an incredible craftsman. Makes me want to purchase a new Gamo just to have one of your GRT-4G trigger blades.
-
hi..
well done Charlie..
It sure is a bit more complex than the GRT3...
think I should grab a couple... ;D
-
Bob, you da man!
Both of my Gamos are the old model, both wearing your GRT-III, but you are going to make lots of plastic trigger Gamo owners extremely happy.
Good move making sure the new trigger is gold, too.
Hats off for your skill, craftsmanship, and tenacity.
Gamo owes you big time.
-
Thanks Bob now I can start looking at the gamo guns again.
-
The check is in the mail. Thanks so much for the much needed product you designed and created. You're going to make thousands of people very happy.
-
Can't wait to purchase one and install it in my Socom. Might get 2 just to purchase another Gamo!
-
New guy here!Info please on where to order the new Gamo GRT-4G trigger blade. Is there a place to look for the steps on how to replace the plastic one??I've only been on GTA for a couple of days.I'm very impressed with the site and all the knowledge and ideas you all have!!Thanks JT
-
Will the new trigger be able to be installed in my CFX without removing the spring, or do I need to make a spring removal jig so the trigger can be installed.
It's something I've been meaning to make, if I need one, it will give me the incentive to get off my lazy but and get one made.
Thank you so much, the plastic trigger makes it so hard to hold good groups. Can't tell you enough how much I appriciate your hard work!.
Looking forward to buying one. Can I send a check in advance, don't want to miss out on the first run?
Thanks, John K
-
I got to say....Great work Bob! This trigger has made my Gamo a real shooter. Thanks for the help and all the work you do for the Gamo group!

I thought my plastic trigger was just fine, but thought I'd change it out anyway. Installed the GRT-4G trigger and man, it's nice :) now I know how crummy the old one was. Very pleased. Pretty easy to install and it arrived much sooner than I thought, I had been shooting all day and just thought well maybe I should check the mail just in case and sure enough it had been in there since yesterday. Anyway thanks for a great trigger at a great price. I joined GTA just to give my 2 cents about the GRT-4G

Thanks Travis and much appreciated. ;D Didn't think I would remember you huh??? ;) ;)

Hey Bob
I'm in Australia and trying to figure out how I can get a GRT4 trigger for my Gamo Big Cat - I notice you don't take Paypal, Western Union or credit cards. The Aussie banks will get US $ for me but only in $200 lots.
How else can I pay for the trigger?

Got my Gamo whisper 2 weeks ago get fairly tight groups less than a dime with lots of focus on trigger . I have shot competitively in the past and know the difference between a well tuned trigger and what comes with this rifle. I can't wait for my GRT-4G to arrive. After reading the reviews am very confident that this will be a great shooting rilfe. I will post again with results after completing the trigger install. Presently put about 1000 .177 pellets down range
-
;D Got the trigger and the install took about 1/2 hr just watched the video and followed instructions. Did the change out solo with no spring compressor. minor PIA to put the retaining pin back in but do-able. Vast improvement over the cheap stock trigger with the scope upgrade I am now grouping consistently small tight groups best so far 7mm 5 shot group. Great product I will install Bob's triggers on any gun he makes them for that I buy in the future. Possibly Gamo CFR .22 when they start making it
-
Just to let all of the Gamo gang know, there has been a couple of updates in the instructions for the GRT-4G trigger installation. This applies only to the late model Gamo's with the new aluminum modular trigger.

Does anyone know if the Gamo Big Cat 1400 has two pins instead of one like the 1250. Trying to install GRT4 trigger, spring and seal but when I removed the pin (compressed) the trigger assembly with the guide doesn't slide back. Looks like there is a bigger pin in front of it with two small holes on one side. Does this unscrew??? Slide out? Is it even a pin. Tuned my 1250 with no problem but can't find any info on the 1400. Any help would be appreciated.

Take a picture of the trigger end of the action and post it up, may have to use an external host since you have a low post count, then we can see what you are working with. Gamo was suppose to implement the new design with two pins one infront of the trigger and one behind.

Shooters,
Did you have luck replacing the trigger on your air rifle with GRT-4G and How? Because I have same situation whan to replace my original trigger with GRT-4G on my gamo big cat 1400 .177, I ordered my trigger today to charliedatuna
Thanks
-
info is on charlies site I think.. listed down below.
Think it was called Gen II ?
-
Got it in the mail right away. Easy to install and adjust. Made a big difference in accuracy as I was able to fire while concentrating on my sight picture instead of having to slowly pull it back , see way too much sight wobble, then take a sec to get set again and finish the trigger pull. Nice job Charlie. :D

Is this trigger an option for the GAMO Coyote PCP?

Is this trigger an option for the GAMO Coyote PCP?
Don't know yet, I haven't seen a diagram of the Coyote trigger yet and they are still to new for many people to post about them.
Bob, aka the original CDT, has retired and is not working on guns any more and may not even be following this thread...

I bought a GRT-4G trigger for my son's GAMO Bull Whisper and it doesn't work because the old trigger has a molded plastic pin built in. does anyone have any advice? I tried emailing the lady who sold me the trigger, but she hasn't responded.

The new trigger should come with a metal pin that replaces the plastic one that is molded in....
-
The pin that it comes with it does not fit in the hole that the molded pin came out of. just to the right of the molded pin hole is another hole the pin fits into.

Thanks for the video Al, but my old plastic trigger has the plastic pin molded in the trigger. if you notice on the video, as he places the GRT-G4 on the trigger assembly, there is a pin sticking up that the new trigger snaps onto then the flat metal snaps over it. I am attaching a new picture.

OIC, there isn't a pin in the trigger housing to put the new trigger on since the old trigger has it molded into it. Take it to a hardware store find a pin that is the correct length and diameter to replace the one that is molded.

Hello,
I have a Whisper Fusion Pro and I purchased this trigger to put on my pellet gun, but I need a little help with a part that I am unfamiliar with, and I cannot find a person on youtube who has a video demonstrating how to remove this piece of plastic. I wrote on the image showing which piece I am referring to. I am hoping the retention pin does not have to be first as don't have any room to use a spring compressor. I hope I am wrong and there is a quick solution to this issue. Please let me know what you guys think, or have experienced with your trigger mods.
Thank you,
Robert
-
on some of the trigger housing there is a plastic cover on the other side and you have to remove the trigger assembly to replace the trigger because you cant get the pin out. If that is the case you will have to remove that pin, would you show me a pic of the other side? David
-
David,
He has one of the newer style guns that utilizes two pins, one in front and behind the trigger block. The one in front of the trigger block holds the main spring tension, the one behind just holds the trigger block and the plastic cover on.
Al
-
Thanks I did not know that, so he should be safe to remove that pin?? David
-

Yes sir, that rear pin doesn't have any spring tension on it.
-
Thank you Al, I am behind times on springers seems lately work on pcps all the time , have put this trigger in some gamo coyotes though made a big difference but had to remove the whole trigger assembly, the coyote is a bsa with the gamo trigger. David
-
Thank all of you for helping me out. I have my GRT-4G installed and it's working great. I appreciate all of your help. Just a bit of advice for those who do have the newer model Gamo rifles, there are two pins that Al pointed out, the one to remove the trigger assembly, which is perfectly safe to remove without the need for a spring compressor. My model rifle is a Whisper Fusion Pro and falls into the "new" trigger assembly category from what I've learned. So, now that I know how to safely install the trigger mod, I will gladly help out anyone who may encounter the same issues I had. Just feel free to contact me.
Thanks again,
Robert

Robert make sure you do a write up on it in the Spanish/Gamo gate...
Absolutely, I will try and make a youtube video as well, and show the whole process I had to go through. But I can't redo my actions as far as the trigger pin that is not included in the purchase of the trigger, as it was the only pin I could find to match the hole diameter used by the triggers built in "pin". However, I can show people the basics of using a Dremel tool and how I applied it to cut down a tapered pin I found. I will also do a write up as you suggested. So, coming soon! Hopefully other shooters will find it useful.

You can use funds from your PayPal account to purchase a Visa Gift Card from an online site that sells them. It works like a Credit Card and you can then take that Card and purchase a Certified Check or Money Order to send to Charlie. I know that's a lot to have to do, but it should work; allowing you to get the trigger from Charlie. Hope this helps.

To my new Gamo Replay 10 Magnum IGT, I did it like this:

That screw adjusts the intermediate sear lever which in turn pushes up on the seal forcing it closer to the release point, the problem is that it is too short to do much good and if you make it much longer you get dangerously close to the end of the sear catch and can make the gun unsafe to handle...
What is the purpose of this screw? Is it adjusting something?

Recently installed the GRT4G trigger in a Gamo Swarm Whisper .22 with production date 11/27/2019, and the factory trigger on mine was also of the updated design with the integral pivot pin. Based on the number and timing of posts I've seen mentioning the need for a replacement pivot pin, I suspect these were phased into production at some point in recent years, and any new Gamo will likely require a pin.
I purchased a 50-pack of 4x12mm hardened steel dowel pins from McMaster for $10, based on the dimensions others have posted of the factory pin, but the molded-in pin on mine turned out to be a bit smaller in diameter than the 4mm that seems to be the consensus - it measured 3.84mm. This isn't much of a difference, but the ones I got from McMaster were 4.01mm diameter, and as a result, they are a very tight fit into the metal side of the trigger housing. The GRT4G trigger itself fits perfectly on these 4mm pins, as does the plastic trigger cover, but I needed to use a hammer (carefully!) to drive the pin into the corresponding hole on the metal backing plate. It will fit but you'll have to hit with some force - just make sure the metal housing is supported directly underneath the pin or you could easily bend the entire thing. A good gunsmith's hammer and nylon block are great for this purpose. The hole has a "stop" at the back to locate the pin correctly along its axis; you can look through the narrower opening on the back side of the plate to see when it's fully seated. You'll see what I mean when you get the trigger apart. Sorry, I don't think I can post pictures yet.
I sent the leftover 49 pins to Cathy so hopefully she can include them with orders going forward.
I ended up setting mine up in the single-stage configuration, where the first stage screw releases the sear before the second stage surface even touches the intermediate link. It is much lighter than stock now, and I do miss the two-stage feel, but the pull is just too heavy on the second stage due to the geometry of the Gamo trigger.

Oh and one more thing, I found it much easier to compress the gas piston by removing the barrel, which simply involves removing the T25 screw that serves as the barrel pivot, and also removing the linkage from the receiver tube. You'll see that in the slot at the bottom of the receiver tube that the linkage travels along, there is a round opening - if you pull the linkage away from the receiver tube, the "foot" of the linkage that contacts the piston inside the tube can be moved to this opening, and you can then pull it through to remove the linkage from the receiver. Then the barrel comes off, leaving just the receiver tube with trigger assembly. Again, pictures would help but I can't post them yet.
After removing the barrel, a 24" bar clamp can be used with a 5/8" socket against the back of the trigger assembly to compress the piston (go to Lowe's website and search for "jorgensen 24 3700" and you'll find what I used for $18). No need to build a contraption to serve as a one-time-use spring compressor, although I admire the ingenuity some have shown here; personally, I do not feel comfortable putting much force on the plastic muzzle device of these Gamo barrels. After removing the cross pin, the gas piston does not travel as far out as a spring does, only a fraction of an inch, so you don't need a fixture with 2-3" of travel.

I just installed the GRT-4G on my Swarm Maxxim .177. The old trigger did have the built-in pivot pin, but a replacement pin was provided, so that wasn't a problem.
I didn't remove the barrel, just used a trigger clamp pushing at a not-quite 90-degree angle. That Maxxim had the gas piston as well, so as mentioned above you don't need a lot of travel.
It felt a lot smoother than the old trigger, even with the 10mm screw replacement.

Just replaced the trigger of Gamo Replay/Swarm 10 Magnum IGT GEN2 .22 with GRT-4G and the difference is noticeable.
Thanks to my compatrtiot Hank for his excellent pictures in this thread whitch were invaluable help during modification.

Got my GRT-4G trigger yesterday (thanks Cathy) and just installed it in my Gamo Silent Cat. Old Bessey (36" sliding clamp) compressed the spring easily. I put the muzzle on the stationary end, and the screw part matched up to the spring perfectly. Didn't even need a 5/8 inch socket.
It was as easy as everyone says it is. I used the two easy to find installation videos on YouTube, which helped greatly. I shot one pellet afterwards to make sure everything works. I haven't had time to play with it yet. So far I am a happy boy!

Just tried out my new GRT-4G trigger. I had previously done the screw replacement trigger mod on the stock plastic trigger. I was so happy with the 8 mm long screw I didn't even try the 10 mm screw. If I had done that before I ordered the GRT trigger, I probably would not have ordered it.
At first I didn't like the new trigger at all. Then I turned the adjustment screw in 1.5 turns. Now I see why people love it so much. When I pull the trigger it doesn't pull the gun off target at all. And the groups are noticeably smaller. The adjustment screw turned in a little too easily, so I will eventually have to pull it out and put some blue loctite on it.
CharlieDaTuna was a genius. I am very grateful to Cathy for continuing his legacy.

That screw hole came in very handy when I installed my GRT-4G. I had previously bought longer screws to adjust the sear lever with. The 2.5M-8 worked for me. When installing the CDT trigger I put a 10mm long screw into that hole as far as it would go. It raised the sear lever high enough that I didn't have to remove the sear lever spring to install the trigger.

Just letting everyone know; these triggers are still very much available. I ordered a 3 & 4 and had them in less than 2weeks. Good stuff!

HPP-- Did you install the GRT-4G trigger yet? If so, which model Gamo rifle? SAT or CAT trigger? Also, question for you, or anyone else that can opine on this--- What/how is the GRT-4G trigger doing to improve the trigger's mechanical action, that a simple replacement (with a slightly longer one...) of the 2nd stage adjustment screw, does NOT do? How does it improve the action of the trigger, from a mechanical standpoint, versus just replacing that screw to slightly decrease the sear lever travel (the component that actually HOLDS the piston)? I have NOT had one of the SAT or CAT triggers apart, completely off of the rifle, to view the internals of the trigger. So, I have no firm understanding of just exactly HOW installing the GRT-4G trigger WORKS with the existing Gamo trigger "internals" to improve the trigger pull, as opposed to just installing that longer 2nd stage screw. So, basically I'm saying that I DO understand what that 2nd stage adjusting screw does, but I DON'T understand what installing the GRT-4G does and HOW it does it. Anyone that cares to, please explain away...
