When to Change Hill Pump Dessicant

How do you know when it's time to change desiccant? The number of pumps to refill my Marauder just went up significantly, but the desiccant still looks goof and flows freely.

I believe the instructions say when the pellets start to change to a blueish color.
Btw....from one of the videos on youtube....the guy said to wrap the housing of "Desiccant" in a plastic bag. He says the desiccant will absorb the moisture from the air even if the pump is not used.

I change them ever 4 months or so.

Dessicant can be "renewed" by placing the pink granules into your home oven and heating at 250 -300 till the crystals are blue again. (about an hour )
This process can be done as many times as needed. CAUTION, the stuff is toxic if ingested. Use common sense.
