Hammerli vs RWS 850

are these the same gun, they look like it from everything I can see. Is one a copy of the other? I see them listed differently on different sites, and I've seen reviews for each and haven't seen any that mention both. Is one of them a clone? are they both clones of something else?
and what do you guys think of them?
I'm thinking I'd really like to have one, I'm just not sure about the power source. They say not to leave it with co2 in it, so you wind up losing whatever co2 is left. I'd rather use the small co2 cartridges. But I'm not exactly fond of spending 100 dollars extra to have that option.
I could build a totally cool 22xx for a lot less, but I wouldn't have the repeater function.

The two do look the same except for the airsource type. I've heard of people swapping pieces back and forth.
My .22 850 HPA is a great gun, is VERY accurate, shoots right at 900fps w/14.3g pellets and gets 110+ shots per fill. I did all the work myself and I think I have about $320 in it.

850 comes as CO2, the Dominater is hpa. You can convert the 850 to hpa, and you can leave the CO2 in the 850 I do and most that have them do ( its a legal thing that they have to tell you)

If I heard this right, it's the same gun. Paul Capello did a video.

I saw the capello videos, that what got my interest so jacked up. the confusing part, though, was that on pyramid, he did a video for the hammerli 850 air magnum. on youtube, theres an old video he did in his brothers basement of the rws 850 air magnum.

Same gun. I bought one a year ago. The receiver says on it Hammerli. The Box is marked RWS 850 Air magnum. Some receivers were marked RWS air magnum some Hammerli and some Umarex.
Mine is a .22. Shoots mid. 600's with 14 grain pellets. Very accurate rifle.

I have also used the adapter. You get about 50 shots with the two 12g cylinders and about 200 with the 88g large cylinder.
Hope this helps
