Whenever the 2100 is talked about there is always a negative comment on its loading difficulity.
Somewhere on one of these forums, someone mentioned a method that works really well for me.
(wish I could remember who, to give him the credit)
Hold the rifle horizontally, slightly tipped, with the loading port facing somewhat, 35+ degrees, toward the sky. (more is better)
Pinch the pellet between forefinger and thumb,
Place it in the port, so that the forefinger will hold it against the upper lip of the port...no thumb now.
Let go... it will roll true, ready to push home with the bolt. Wads, domes, HP's, pointed, doesnt matter.
I can reliably load this way in the dark, feeling the domed/pointed front end, or with enough light to catch a
reflection off the flat nosed ones, to know which end is front.
Pics' 1st one with forefinger holding the pellet in the key position
2nd, popcycle stick in place of finger
3rd, after i let go with the stick.
(click pic or file name for bigger pic)
Love my 1980 766 phase II.. PCP like zero recoil feeling.. ..
and still mighty accurate...'specially consider'n how many BB's went down that barrel when I was younger.
Hope this is Helpful....shoot safe

For a while I was just dropping them in backwards and amazing myself how they magically turned right way round.... LOL
But alas it was just random...no matter what I've tried about 75% of them end up backwards. I'll give your method a try!
