I did 3 on my maximus. one just in front of the rear sight sleeve, ( inletted ), one in front of the forend of the stock, and a third just behind the fill plug. that barrel ain't goin' nowhere. worked great.
Alchemy Airwerks has the bands. you can get them in black, or polished aluminum, or polished brass. the barrel bands are designed to pull the barrel down. that's why so many people put the one right in front of the breach. it pulls the front of the breach down tight, giving a better seal to the transfer port, and reducing stress on that darn tiny 4-48 breach screw.

Unfortunately in a stickler for consistency so I'd have to buy at least 2 so I could replace the original. I think I'd be happy enough shimming another stock one or 2 though. Just trying to keep my $200 gun at the current $300 dollars it's at.
Okay that's great, do you have to give them part numbers? I looked for a parts list but couldn't find one.
Im gonna do at least 2, like the 3 idea....is a dremel the best tool for inletting the stock in front of the breech....
