Title: Gamo Hunter 220 ?
Post by: Nomadic Pirate on September 20, 2010, 08:07:03 PM
So a friend of mine had this rifle at his house, pretty rusty, someone put a sling on it by screwing into the side of the stock, so I took it cleaned it up painted the stock with truck bedliner, put a scope on it and today I was shooting it,......it shoots real good, seems a bit less powerfull than my "Hunter Sport"........if this considered a good gun ?

trigger is pretty good too compared to the stock trigger that I used to have on the Hunter sport.

if I was to sell this gun, how much would it be worth ?

Thanks

M

I like my 220's both are good shooters. A person can get a re manufactured 220 from Natchez for about $125 so one in the condition you are describing without seeing a picture I would guess would go for around $50 - $60. Here is a picture of what the $125 will get you out of the box for comparison.

So I got to shoot this gun a lot lately, and I'm impressed I'm more accurate than with my tuned Hunter Sport with GRT III trigger.

......not bad for a free gun  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Isn't the 220 the same power plant as the Hunter Sport?  One of Gamo's best designs.

I thought the 220,440,890 were the same power plant?

Yes they are
Different stocks. 220 plainer stock, 440 nicer stock 890 same stock as 440 but had muzzle brake and no iron sights.

That design, the 220/440/890 was copied by the Chinese to make the original B-18/19 aka Crosman Quest 800/1000 and others.

NOT refurbs...these are NIB. It's where I got mine from. Great deal IMHO! ;) Since those pics below I have added the GRT and a one piece Accushot mount. The first two pics are the day it arrived and the bottom two are after I had it dialed in at 40 yds. Now I have to sight it in again after added the new mount and trigger.
