Beeman R10

I picked up my Beeman R10 .177 at a gun show in Pharr, Tx, a couple years ago, brought it back home to the midwest, and it would not shoot the pellet out of the barrel. I sent it in to Beeman, and they sent it back in operable condition, not cosmetically pretty, but in fine shape otherwise. ( they did not send a list of particulars as to what they had repaired or replaced, but there was no cost except my cost to ship to them) I guess my question is: Where in the rank of quality does the R10 fall. Is it worth the effort to spend the time to restore the outside of this rifle to pristine condition, or just shoot it as is?

The R10 is what the R9 wishes it was IMO. actually the R9 is a cheaper to build R10. wondering which address yours has stamped on the reciever cap. Perhaps you have heard the R10 is the "son of the R1".

I know R10 are the pre-curser to the R9. That being said there value can vary. I have seen some go for pretty high. I think the $350-400 range is where I have mostly seen them at so maybe if you clean the stock up it will be worth some dough. Especially since everyone who has one keeps it.

The R10 deluxe version has the spacers in the butt stock & pistol grip, checkering w/ palm swell, the standard doesn't. I've read the R10 was discontinued because of cost and replaced by the R9.
here's a pic

Alas! No white spacers, no checkering on the pistol grip and it measures 16 inches from the breech to the muzzle---a carbine, perhaps?
After I get through with medical problems here I will try and post a pic of both the RWS 75 and the R10. The 75 is my pride and joy just wish I were able to utilize all the built in accuracy that inability comes from being too long on the planet I guess ;-))) 84 is not a great age to try and become proficient with any projectile hurling object- including my 3/4 inch bore cannon.

Mark,
That seems to be the one that looks like mine only yours is in nicer shape
I have been shooting for a looooong time, but getting to the point that recoil shakes the ole shoulder bones a bit too much for my likes. I was a serious trap shooter until this year when a bunch of health problems showed up and made me back off a tad. I thought that using my airguns would be an interesting way to round off a career taht included muzzleloaders, of which I have a bunch, handguns, and hi-power rifles which I have thinned out a bit over the years, as well as a Blackpowder 3/4 inch bore cannon that will - hopefully- get sighted in this summer- Lord willin'
I was surprised at the amount of recoil that occurs in the more powerful springers! I have the R10, a Winchester Turkish made springer and the amount of recoil they produce is considerable! Just an old Wuss I guess
