Striker Trigger help!
«
on:
May 18, 2015, 06:11:45 PM »
Trying to do my first tune on my Hatsan Striker and couldn't figure out the disassembly. Pulled out a pin on the trigger then put it back because I didn't want to mess with it and was trying to figure out if I could pull the end off without disturbing the trigger assembly. Little springs in there freaked me out. Pit it back on the stock and it wouldn't cock. I messed something up so took the trigger all the way apart. There was s no way I will get it back together without help. Anyone know of detailed pics or a video on assembly? Can't find any so I'm stuck. If not I'll have to try to sell it in pieces!

IIRC, the Striker is a B18/19 variant, so a Crosman exploded diagram might be a useful guide.
Scotty
Edit: If you google "Hatsan Striker 1000X Exploded Diagram" a downloadable guide pops up. Good luck with it. Let us know how it turns out.

Yep not going to happen. With just this picture it is impossible for me to see how everything fits. Last three hours of trying I want to scream. I can only guess from the picture and when I think I'm close some piece slips out. How much is a disassembled Striker .25 worth?

Hey Tom,
I'm working on a friends Striker 1000x trigger in the next couple of days, so I will take a few pictures and post - along with a writeup. I have worked on (4) different Quattro trigger designs, but this is my first Striker tune -> w/o quattro. Everythings is done except the trigger reassembly. The basic tune couldn't be easier.
I don't like the design (3 springs) and the trigger is making me think
........... but I will have it working soon and post for you.
The first time is the toughest
The problem I'm having is that I didn't documents the disassembly better, but I'll get it soon!
Kirk

I've got a Striker 1000 Vortex. Never had it out of the stock. But hang in there. A Hatsan made Daisy 1000 trigger wore me out. Kept going back to it, three or four two hour sessions over a couple of weeks and got it back together. Worked good for about 100 shots and quit. I think I replaced the trigger and sear springs with springs that were to light. Got to re-do it. Took four hours of trial and error on a Bam B4-2 trigger. Got a Browning Leverage trigger to learn next and so far no luck with my old Airhawk trigger. But, I think I'm a better person for it all. Later.

Thanks for the help guys. Finally got it back together....mostly except I have to put the safety on. This was the most frustrating project for me yet. I work on my pumpers, recently lube tuned my XS 12, and I don't think I ever want to work on another Hatsan! My hands are beat up, cut up, and my torsoe is bruised. I hope to gosh that my Ruger Black Hawk Elite tune is easier than this! The rear end piece holding the spring in was a nightmare! Weird shape needs some kind of adapter. Put the spring in first, end cap and I couldnt get the darn barrel bolt through. Ughhh one thing after another don't even know if I want to try and get the safety back on. The positive is with a new seal, moly on the piston, heavy tar on th spring, she has no twang and fps went from 630 to just over 700 with 19.9 grain FTTs! Wow and I thought th seal was too tight because it was super hard to push back in the tube. Now I feel like selling it because I don't even want to look at it anymore! Ha so anyone interested check the classified soon. Might have to rid myself like a bad break up!

Glad you got it together
Give yourself a few day off w/o looking at the gun, it may help
The Hatsan 95 is superior airgun vs. the Striker in every way except weight ....................... You're likely getting 700 fps because of detonation? How badly is she smoking?
IMO, the Striker/Model 95 are underpowered in .25 cal., and best in .177 (target) or .22 (hunting). Also, the Vortex is overrated.
Good Luck,
Kirk

Kirk no dieseling at all. Shot probably 20 pellets and it is still hovering around 700. The new seal is super tight. Read about another guy on here that replaced his and was getting those speeds. I'll give it a break for awhile and see how the power holds up. It really should have the wood stock for another 35$ but not sure if she will stay or go....after my time out. Lol.

Hey seitg74,
I bought the first piston seal's AGH created for the Hatsan 95 and Striker. I bugged him for a few months (told him he would sell a lot of them) before he finally relented and made some up. Prior to that, they came from Europe or you had to make your own.
Anyway, the first set he made, may have been a little smaller (than now), leading me to only get about 645 fps out of my (95) springer and 635 fps out of my Vortex (H&N 19.91)? I may have polished my compression chamber too much also.
Anyway, when I opened up the Striker a few weeks ago, I noticed it had a shorter/lighter piston, but with the same spring + a metal top hat. The compression chamber is the same. Now the 95's don't have the metal top hat, which likely give the spring a little more compression/power. Otherwise, there is no explaining how the Striker could have the same Mfg. power stats. as the 95. The next time I open up a 95, I'm going to add a delrin top hat to try and boost power about 50 fps.
We'll see ................... Kirk

Interesting to know, I'm just learning. My next job is to detune my Ruger from 16 to 12 foot lbs. I think the website mentioned that the seals were slightly larger. It was very hard to get in the tube and I was doubtful it would fire thinking I received the wrong one. I was going to try cutting a plastic sleeve for inside the spring and piston but was at the end of my patients so I declined. Surprisingly there is no spring vibration with the plastic stock. For my shooting the 3 foot pounds don't make a difference because its usually up to 20 yards. I agree with you at that power level is more suited for .177 and .22 but I found a sale I couldn't refuse. I haven't used it for any pests yet but can only imagine it will destroy anything it touches! Birds, squirrels, rabbits etc. My 125 has a Pyramyd tune install Nitro Piston and it is a smooth shooter. But it is so heavy and long that it just sits in the corner. I'll check back with its new break in performance. T

Kirk, i was down shooting for the last hour or so and you are correct. Power has been slowly falling and is staying in the high 640's. Doesn't matter too me though because before the tune this gun vibrated so loud it hurt your ear! Now just a thud. I don't have the safety bar attached yet and not sure if that affects the trigger but it feels like a hair trigger. Barely touch it and she shoots. Accidental discharge a couple times facing the target of course and scared me. Maybe not that light but way lighter than before. Might keep her. Shoots good and would be a nasty close range thumper!

Hey Tom,
PM me if you want additional information on tuning the Quattro trigger. The trick is to get her smooth and light, but not too light or you've created a safety issue.
Good Luck ....... Kirk

Hey sieg74,
Battling my friends
Striker trigger
today, as he would like his gun at noon
. All I can say is the top, sear (which doesn't engage piston), spring, which partially wraps around it, is a pain to fit while installing a side pin.
Originally, the springs seemed easy enough to orchestrate, but upon reassembly, it's been very difficult to get them all in at once, facing the right direction - hooked in to their resting points. The two main sears don't even fit the trigger housing seimi-snugly, they're very loose, held in place by a series of (3) springs ................
This is the definition of frustration
On the contrary, the Quattro Trigger is much easier to work on

Lol that is why I said I didn't want to work on another Hatsan. Got mine together and working, not even sure how I did it. Still need to put the safety bar on but not sure if I need to pull out a pin to get it on. Not looking forward to trying so it is still off for the time being. Maybe I will build up the courage after my break from the project. T
