Wow, thanks for all the info! I'm going to try the 2100 barrel and make my own shroud. Maybe I'll make it functional. Now, to order parts from crosman do I just call or is there a page I haven't seen yet to order?
One of the members here posted that a m4 barrel is rifled and the part # is 417-005. He also mentioned that you should get a new barrel support as they are hard to remove intact. So I did and the barrel is rifled. Accuracy has net been as good as I hoped but is better than the smooth bore. It's still a work in progress at this point. I'm going to try crowning and see what that does. Never having crowned anything before it seems a good gun the experiment on.
Yes! Post pics... I'd like to see how it comes out...How old is your 760? I'm not sure which valve you have...
Actually I adapted the longer pump tube as well. Pretty easy to do as the receivers are nearly the same.
Made new stocks too.

What steps did you go thru to adapt the longer pump tube??Quote from: airgunandy on October 20, 2013, 08:32:27 AMMade new stocks too.I'd love to have a set like that! Love the way they look! Do you have a pattern you would care to share? Would you be interested in making a similar set for me??
The tube for the Powermaster 66 (and the Recruit for that matter) is identical to the 760 tube in all ways except length ( about 1.5 inches). ... It's a direct bolt-in replacement.
As for the stocks, they are made from plywood. Sorry, I've lost my pattern and I don't have the time at the moment to make another set.

I had considered using the 2100 tube since it is longer than the 66 but I think you've settled that question for me.Quote from: airgunandy on October 21, 2013, 10:32:00 PMAs for the stocks, they are made from plywood. Pretty sure I can pattern from my father's or brother's target rifles and adapt to fit. It's a good excuse for me to buy woodworking tools anyway...
