Full circle : Starting were you ended.
Insanity : Doing the same expecting different results.
Years ago I purchased an S410 FAC (old bolt version) for a $$ song.
Super accurate but Not very back yard friendly on full power. Was reall hard to cock it (had to grab the bolt like a T-handel) I assumed this was normal. (I had no other air rifles to compare it to back then) sold it. (meaning gave away for a $$ song)
I recently tried an M-rod and its super easy (two fingers to work action!!!hey!) Now I wonder if the S410 was defective? Any how after lots of reasearch for a quality higher end air rifle (really stewed over a Daystate regal and a BSA R-10 Mk2, the bolt action scared me still) can you guiess where I end up? Thats right Air Arms (side lever!!ya!).....go figure...
Still not any quieter than my old s-410 , Lever action is much nicer ( but still more effort than a Hatsun AT44QE), Walnut stock is to die for, fit and finish just wonderful.
So now I keep thinking about the Regal and the R-10 for my next purchase. How are the bolt actions on these ? as easy as say an M-rod?

the s410s take little amount of force to cock but they aren't difficult by any means. you must have had a "special" one. I cant give any input on either of the mentioned rifles but have two bolt action 410s.

The bolt on the Regal XL .25 was a little stiff at first so small dab of silicone grease and a couple hundred pellets later much smoother.
The Evanix RS II side lever is very nice and probably a touch easier to cock but the Daystate trigger is the nicest out of the box of all my rifles. The side lever on my AA S510 is no smoother than the RS II side lever. I wish the Daystate was a side lever also

the bolt action on the bsa r10 mk2 is smooth and light. when I say smooth I mean butter smooth. way better than the mrod.
I brought both the bsa and s510 at the same time and the s510 was favored in the beginning but now the bsa tops all my rifles because it's all around perfect. as for the s510 I have considered installing a reg but will probably pass or hold off as I look to buy a few more rifles.
I can't speak on the bolt on the huntsman but if it's like the air ranger it's a harder pull that I had to adjust to as I double loaded a few times.

Thanks!
Hind sight is 20/20.....wish I would have asked these questions before the purchase
I think an r-10 may be in the future.
How does the r-10 compair noise wise ?
The maurader in .177 is wisper quiet vs the S510 im concerned to use at full power in the back yard.

the r10 is quieter than the s510 on full power but to me the s510 is still quiet. I normally keep my s510 on 3/4 power sometimes 1/2 but at 3/4 I'm okay with the report, it's quieter than my hw100 and at full power about the same if not a bit lower.

My S510 .22 on full power Is very quiet using 18g pellets I would say Its on a par with the Synrod .25 I used to have .
