I ordered a metal muzzle brake from Crosman (Parts: "Muzzle Break"(sic)) -- I was (but I shouldn't be) surprised that it is nothing more than a "blob" you put on the end of the barrel -- I took a very close look at my original plastic one and it appears to be the same.More surprising is that the (plastic) installed one is flush against the barrel. Can I leave the muzzle brake a few mm away from the barrel (muzzle end) to use it as a makeshift air-stripper? If no, should I get a shrouded barrel or air-stripper from a 3rd party?I really want this to be as quiet as possible... Thanks
You could try calling them to see if they can accomodate your barrel diameter. Another option would be to swap on a Benji Trail NP barrel, they have a long shroud and are pretty quiet. This poster did just that on his Venom.http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=48724.msg459903#msg459903
I contacted TKO and they only do shrouds for 7/16 OD barrels.
I just ordered parts for the new barrel, like the link pin, lever arm, bushingp
if you have any questions about how to do the swap, send me a PM and I will be glad to help.

Did they do muzzle brakes for the crosman barrel? I'm guessing no since they don't list it, and they only work on specific shroud diameters... Bummer.Quote from: silent_airman on July 02, 2013, 02:28:20 PMI just ordered parts for the new barrel, like the link pin, lever arm, bushingpTo get a 7/16 OD barrel or to use a crosman shroud?Quote from: silent_airman on July 02, 2013, 02:28:20 PMif you have any questions about how to do the swap, send me a PM and I will be glad to help. Thanks;will do. I am going to take this metal blob crosman sent and see if cutting it helps as a make shift air stripper; but I suspect it'll just be something to do on another hot day (Garage is nice and cool) and turn it into actual junk...
Thanks! I noted the part #'s and will order them up. Can you measure your barrel? Mine are no where near 7/16 OD...
