help with my benji titan!

I have had my titan for a little over a month now and it has suddenly become very inaccurate. I have put about 2000 rounds through it so im sure its broke in but the weird thing is it will ocasionally diesel for a couple shots here and there. I just put a centerpoint 3-9x32 on it a couple days ago and it was shooting fine. I was hitting one inch spinners at 35 yards everytime. I went to shot today and i couldnt get it to group at all. My first group was like 6 in but they were all in a line up and down but after that they were all over the place. I did notice the breach is starting to lock back hard and when i looked closer it is rubbing on the left side. It has a pretty hard dig and has worn a groove where the barrel pivots. Could it be the pivot bushings? I would think bad pivot bushings would give a horizontal string not a vertical. Now im pretty new to airguns as this is my first springer i dont expect .5 in groups but i do feel like somethings wrong here. Something has changed and i cant figure it out.

Might need to disassemble it and give it a good inspection. When you have dieseling 2,000 shots in, the dirst thing I would suspect is a burned or damaged piston seal. Could be a number of things though, as you stated it sounds like you may have issues with the breech or bushings.

I have been thinking about taking it apart but i figure if im going to tear it down i should just go ahead and put a grs kit and a new seal along with new breech washers. I have read alot about deburring but im not sure as to what all needs it and what all i need to do it. Do i need to build a spring compressor for the titan np? This will be my first time takinging apart an airgun so any tips will be helpful thanks

A bar clamp will work fine. Very little preload in this gun. Get a good bar clamp at the hardware store for about $20-$30. Might want to have the parts you intend to replace on hand. Tearing these guns down is pretty easy. Check the gta library for instructions on de-burring and lubing the gun.

Most definitely take a closer look at the barrel pivot. I may have missed it, but did you check to see if the pivot screw is tight? My Titan's biggest problem was the slop in the pivot screw and bushing and the plastic side load bearings. After replacing the plastic with brass and placing a 1/4" wide strip of .001" brass shim between the bushing and the pivot, my Titan became good enough to warrant a gold trigger and better pellets.

Yes i made sure it was tight as soon as i noticed the breech rubbing. I think im going to go ahead and build a spring compressor just to be a little safer and it will help with any future springers which i see there may be a few more around the corner. I will go ahead and order the grs bushing and washer kit and a seal. Should i order a seal from crosman or is there somewhere else to get a better one? Is there anything else i should do/purchase while i have the gun apart?

Air Rifle Headquarters has nice seals and good aftermarket springs....
Normally vertical stacking is a sign of the seal gone or going bad, shotgun pattern would be more indicative of barrel bushings as the barrel would be waving all over the place..
If you don't feel comfortable taking the gun apart contact a tuner and get them to do it for you...

Could it be the scope?, you said it was fine before that, try shooting without it to take it out of the equation.
