Title: Ruger air magnum parts and drawings
Post by: Ken Rummer on August 14, 2011, 03:57:43 PM
I am looking for an exploded view that shows both part numbers and part name.
I checked out the RWS 350 drawing in the GTA Library but there are no part names.  To me, part names
generally explain the parts function which is useful.

Is it possible to buy replacement parts or do I need to send the gun to the mfgr. for repairs
when something breaks?

Are there any disassembly instructions available for this gun?

Thanks but this drawing does not look right.  It does not show the barrel/ compression tube locking ball features and the sights are different.

Until I bought this rifle, all my experience since age 14 has been with rimfire and centerfires.   That was 56 years ago.  Airguns seem to have more variations than I have seen before.  I have a long way to go and appreciate this reference.  It will help.

OK here we go, remove fore stock screws, remove big trigger guard screw, lift action out of stock, unscrew cross bolt for pivot and remove it and nut, tap out pivot tube, pull barrel out of forks and remove cocking arm foot from slot, remove rear plastic cap and remove safety, place in compresser and tap out the two cross pins, release carefully and remove guide and spring, tap rear of tube on padded bench and remove piston. For trigger work see the RWS TO5....you won't get any info on the detent ball as they are included in the purchase of the barrel, it's a factory install and a real bugger if you mess with it. The XS-28 is the same rifle just has different rail and sights...some parts from the Ruger and the 28 do not swap (barrel) unless stock is modified

Mike what modification needs to be done to the stock to allow the RAM to fit and cock? Is it just making the cocking arm slot longer or is there something more?

the only problem I have found is the sights don't fit the cut outs of the XS stocks...the sights are located differently on the two models

Well I tried the B28 stock on the RAM action and could not get the gun to cock. Maybe I needed the extra space from the trigger guard because I only used a very thick washer. Will try again with a trigger guard on it.
