Tarheel invited me to come and visit you guys. I have a Gamo whisper gas spring conversion that only had a few hundred rounds through it when it failed and it's out of warranty. I'm going to tear into it today and get some measurements for N-forcer as they were suggested in the other thread I started
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,30128.msg279475.html
.
Sounds like a few of you have experience with other guns and there seems to be shared interest in the gas spring technology which I'm excited about for several reasons. Mostly, I have a specific need for the gas spring (leaving it cocked) and secondly, there are other Purple Martin landlords that look to me for advice so when something good comes along, like the gas spring, I like to learn as much as I can and pass on the info on my PM website.
So, I'm here to learn from the experts, pick your brains and soak up what I can without sounding stupid in the process.
On a side note, I also want to find a good (off the beaten path- translation "cheap alternative to commercial guns") pellet gun that I can convert to gas spring and do tune-ups on to offer on my website for those who cannot do such things on their own. Not looking to compete with AG tuners, just trying to provide for my customers and set my goals for the future. I'm nearing retirement (5-10 years depending on lots of.....) and since the late nineties I have been doing this and would like to continue to do it full time. I know, I know, getting the cart ahead of the path, that's me in a nutshell.

Even with the finest pellet rifle in the world, shooting the most accurate pellet in that particular rifle, and sighting through a perfectly-adjusted scope with the world's finest optics, it all still boils down to the person holding the rifle . . . !
