Hatsan fun

I was shooting into my pellet trap today. Using my AT-44 .22. My trap is a box filled with old magazines with a piece of coroplast holding them in. I had a few Yen coins I picked up on a recent business trip. They are disk of aluminum a little bigger than a penny. I taped a few to the target, expecting the pellet to penatrate the coin. When the pellet hit the coin just disappeared. I thought they would be laying on the ground. I couldn't find any of them? After searching a bit I found that the pellet did not puncture the disk, it shoved the whole coin a solid inch deep into the magazine stack. Pretty cool but not at all what I expected!

Sounds like a fun experiment! Were the coins deformed uniformly?
I have lots of 1 yen and similar coins that I'll have to try.

The dog gets excited every time I reach for a rifle or rattle a pellet tin. Squirrels get nervous!

That's a good question. I will post pictures of the coins I recovered later today.

1 Yen coin, dug out of about 1 solid inch of magazines. I had 3 other coins laying on the counter to photograph, but my 3 year old granddaughter was visiting. This one was all I could find.
