Update:
I ditched the CPHP 7.3 grain in favor of a wee bit heavier CP Ultra Magnum Domed 10.5 grain. It is a little bit slower as expected. I am getting velocities between 1030 and 990 fps. That's an average of 23 fpe. Not bad for a .177 air rifle. I lightened a little bit the trigger and now I am lot happier with the way the rifle behaves. I m getting large holes pellet on pellet that are about the size of a nickel. I tightened everything on the scope in hope that it holds. I have not shot this rifle a lot but so far so good. My cheap Optima is holding fine. It is useless in 9x magnification on short distances. The target has to be 20 yards or farther for the 9x magnification to be used. In my indoor range, the 3x magnification is more than enough.
I will try and get some JSB Monster at 13.43 grain and see how the rifle behaves. My guess is that I should be getting velocities in the low 900 and maybe energies around 25 fpe. If the JSB Monster 13.43 are the favorite pellets for this rifle, I will shoot them exclusively.
In conclusion. I am very satisfied with this rifle. I don't think it is target shooting friendly. It's more for hunting than anything else.
