if thats the best group at 25yds id be sending it back for a replacement.im not being mean in the least but i would think it would group much better than that at 25yds,at least dime sized groups.myself i wouldnt be satisfied if that were 50yd groups.i can reasonably say its not you, because you said you shoot alot of powder burners,so im assuming youre a good shot.
Quatro trigger? 6-8lb pull?
This is your first PCP so there is a lot to learn, did you clean the barrel? then what was that 40shots or so? to determine what groups you are getting you need to shot groups of 5 per target and see where your Poi changes, then you need a chrono to see the ES. a gun needs to be tuned to do very well. Some do well out the box and some need adjustments. But that group tell me nothing at all, I would do 5 shot groups and zero the scope at 25 yards then see what pellets do the best.
That's a lot higher poi for a little lighter pellet. Something doesn't quite add upIf they consistently keep shooting higher its not a fluke, thats how they fly. But I'd put them aside for now & use only pellets with a similar trajectory
When you cleaned the barrel the last few dry patches came out clean? I have had new barrels that had brown tar come out on the patches.
I don't understand what you mean by "lighting the barrel".
I see that your in SD im about three hours away, maybe when time permits we can get together and I can help with the Hatsan.
I would really like to know your fps, and ES, a shot string on a chrono will tell if the gun is sick or not...Have you looked at the crown?
