What is the M-rod doing or not doing that makes you think about returning it?
Thanks for all the responses so far. I shot a magazine through the Mrod last night. I have an old non working electric fence and it uses stakes with little yellow caps on them for the wire. Just for fun I tried and managed to hit every one I aimed at(9 shots). Short range; maybe 45 feet give or take. That made me wonder if for what I'm doing that this is about the perfect setup for me. The extra money could be spent on a better scope and HUGE 300+ cf Nitrogen tank that I would dispense into a fire extinguisher sized carbon bottle(4500 psi) that's manageable in the field. I have friend that fills and tests high pressure equipment for a living. He can get me carbon tanks at cost and can set me up with all the hoses, valves, regulators to make a very user friendly fill station. I can rent the big 6K nitrogen bottle for $65/year and it would top off tanks and the gun hundreds of times. That said, the Hatsan AT44-10 Long QE looks like a more substantial rifle with great potential. The guy at PA said they're a little crude, but on the flip side it has nothing but great reviews. If I returned the hill pump and got a cheaper one for emergency filling, returned the rifle & scope, I wouldn't be out of pocket much more than I've already spent and could put the extra bucks into a good chrony and super duper fill station. I also think the AirArms guns do look really nice, but would be $500+ more money. What say Ya'll about that?
Here is my opinion. If you are going to keep it as a .25, I would keep the mrod and get a 4500 psi bottle (having an air source is very important). The mrod has lots of upgrades and a large community to help you. I shot the galantian in .22. Great gun and accurate. The minuses were wait and after shooting it through the chrony, I would it was not pushing the pellets fast enough for the amount of air that was using. I'm very critical in air use (efficiency) on my guns. The trigger is not that treat and it is heavy but well balanced. The AA S500 series is by far a better gun than both the mrods and hatsans. The only suggestion I would say if you choose one is that I would get it in 22 and not 25. In 25, it might be underpowered. The 22 shots moa or lower at 100 yards. I want one and it might be my next gun.One thing that I would like to point out. Returning the gun just because you decide you might like another one is bad business/buyer practice. The only way that is OK in my eyes is if the gun is defective. If you decide to get a different gun. Sell the mrod and take your loss. Daniel
