Title: Gamo Little Cat?
Post by: Zed Sniper on April 29, 2013, 02:01:42 AM
Has anyone got their hands on one of these yet? I have been looking for a intermediate speed porch gun for sparrows on my feeder. I Thought with a proper tune and new guide this puppy just might rock. Also some feedback on the SAT trigger would be great. Thanks in Advance!

Haven't heard of it, post up a link so we can check it out...

Edit: I looked it up, very low power 525fps with lead pellets not sure if I would want to try to kill anything with it....

I thought maybe using H&N Field Target Trophy Green .177 Cal, Lead-Free, 5.56 Grains for sparrow eradication at 15 yards or so. I also enjoy putting jelly on a paper plates and shooting flys. I just figured with a good tune-up it would be a neat little plinker to keep next to the porch chair.

I have never pulled one of Gamo's SAT triggers, are they any good?

Thanks!

The SAT isn't to bad out of the box.  I too am interested in the Little Cat.  I have a Crosman Raven and like that but the Little Cat is (or seems to be) the smallest of the youth rifles.  Also for what it is worth the Little Cat is rated at 750 with alloy pellets & the Raven says 600fps online but 650fps on the box and with Gamo Blue Flames mine Chronys over 750fps.

I have a six year old grandson that is just getting interested is shooting. I started looking for a youth gun for him. The HW25 is nice but pricey. My HW30 and XS12 are a little too big. He's not a big kid. The Gamo Recon Whisper and others like it are the right size, but I wanted wood and steel. I found the Little Cat and found one favorable review. I decided to buy. They are hard to find. Finally ordered one from Walmart. I t was priced at $88 -- the only other one was $129.

It arrived today. It's a good looking rifle. It is disappointing that the breech is not metal but the barrel is.The wood is plain with a flat finish.

The shot cycle is smooth. The trigger is manageable. The sights are finer than most.

After about a hundred pellets it settled down. I mounted a 4X scope to test the accuracy.

The five shot group was shot from rest at ten meters inside with no wind.

So far I like it.

Two things I didn't like, the synthetic stock and I prefer a manual safety. I never found found the length of pull either.

the one small gun I would like to see sold here is the hatsan 35s, wood stock can be shortend, all steel, safety easy to convert,  and it has the quattro trigger. hatsan usa never answers about this gun. but sold in canada.

I have a little cat and I wish I had gotten the xs-12.  The little cat is just a little bit too underwhelming that it didn't even work with a lot of the plinking targets I have.  My daughter much prefers the fd-pcp or even xs25.
