Oldnoob, I really like these kinds of series stories. I will be following your progress. Pictures are good!
From the look of the crown of your barrel it looks like the same process as used on my SRod barrel. Not sure what to call it other than a deeply recessed crown. I've emailed Crosman about mine.
That is nice looking furniture. Do you have plans for refinishing the stock?I like the way the edges are rounded over.
when I did the trigger on my disco, the biggest change was drilling the extra hole in the transfer bar. you drill a 1/8" hole a quarter inch to the right of the existing hole and move the pin over into the right hand socket in the housing. greatly changes the leverage from the trigger. A little polishing and changing the trigger spring to a ball point pen spring does wonders for the disco trigger. Mine is just about perfect.
discos can be fussy about what pellets they like, mine sprays crossman hollowpoints around, but will put jsb heavys pretty much in the same hole.
I'm wondering about this. I feel pretty strongly that if i send it back or buy another barrel, that i'll just get another with the same issue. I have read of people cutting off 3/8ths of the barrel and re-crowning it with positive results.(Sorry about the poor quality image , Cheepo camcorder.)
