Does anyone else like Airgunweb more than Airgunreporter? I also like Airgunreporter but all they do is really only tell you the good stuff it's almost like every gun they use is perfect, but on the other hand I like how Rick at Airgunweb tells it like it is and isn't afraid to do so. He has really helped me out in the air gun world. If anyone else has an opinion on this topic please share.

I enjoy both reviewers as they both are very thorough and pass on very good information. That being said though I would have to admit that I prefer Ricks / Airgunweb reviews much more for the simple reason that if he finds something wrong with the gun, or something that he just doesn't like, he doesn't "beat around the bush" or "tap dance" around it he just comes straight out and tells you what the problem is. I really respect that quality in his reviews. I'm not saying or implying in any way that Airgunreporter reviews intentionally leave out "negative" information but I have noticed that it's seems like a real rare occurrence to hear any "negative" information noted during airgunreporter reviews. I will continue to value reviews by both reviewers, but when "push comes to shove" I personally give much more credence to the reviews posted by Rick.

I'm also a Rick Eutsler fan and have made most purchases based on his reviews of products and have not been disappointed yet. Have donated a few bucks to help with his production costs. But I like airgun reporter too and wish I could watch the TV series he has on one of the hunting channels. Rick=facts, not "Fluff"

I like them both, as well. You can tell the effects of "sponsorship"...but hey...seems like everyone does it, (pitch the pluses, sell the sizzle, etc.),,,unless there's a glaring problem. I also have looked back at P.A. website, for Tom Gaylord's blogs about AGs. He does a pretty good job IMO, but they aren't in video. Generally, they are good reading.

IMO, Rick has gotten better and more in depth in his reviews. I do also like his more "candid" commentary. Paul Cappello has some very well made videos. There is a difference (in Paul's') in the early stuff versus the later stuff. I wish Rick would do more reviews, sometimes it's several months between. I understand that they both are sponsored by PA, but calling a lemon a lemon (the airgun, not the sponsor) IMO, doesn't reflect negatively on the sponsor. That's just being honest. One thing I dislike about Rick compared to Paul, is Rick usually does not restrain the barrel of a break barrel rifle, when cocking and loading. I know it's nit picky, but that is an example that he should make more often.

AGR has good production value, AGW has a more "down-home" look to it but... I like both. Rick tends to make note of small issues or features he doesn't like and that can be good info for the buyer. Paul... not so much. AGR is more product promotion with data than pros/cons kind of review.
Both guys do good work and provide valuable service to the AG crowd.

I made a negative comment a year or so back about Rick. Should of kept my mouth shut..
Not nice to slam our airgun brothers and I did cross the line. Since then he gave up his membership here on the GTA and moved on.
At that time from viewing both Rick's and Paul's video reviews I felt that Paul's presentation was much more professional. Plus he emphasized safety which I had not seen from Rick's reviews. As time has past Rick has been more thorough and is being more assertive with his reviews. More objective, and even adds safety to his video's now...
That is good and like Jeff mentioned we don't want to buy something that has been reported to be good, when it isn't.
I still prefer Paul's presentations only for the reason he has more experience with the way he puts his stuff together. Yes Paul should start being more objective with his reviews.
I do admit that I watch allot more of Ricks reviews now just because of his objectiveness. Rick has come a long ways since he first started and I commend him for that. And I will keep watching for his newer reviews that he puts out.
I guess I owe Rick and apology but I will understand if he does not accept.. Keep up the good work Rick. After all Rick is one of us but he gets to play wiff new bb guns more than most of us..

All you can do is extend it. It's admirable that you offered this up....many wouldn't have ever stood up, but would have hoped it would be forgotten. Kudos.

I think Rick needs a bit more support. For that matter both reviewers need to review all guns. Not just the one their sponsor has. But I realize that's the way the business world works. It's not always in favor of those who should matter most; the consumer. Rick has come a long way and I really enjoy his reviews. I wish him well in the future.

Gene, that's what makes you a Gentleman. It takes a big man to admit a mistake and then publicly apologize, but what you said wasn't near as bad as the other guy. But, he's the internet airgun guru and is above apologizing,so I really don't expect to see one from him.
I guess that's what makes the GTA what it is,The Best on the Net.

I like bot too. Any good info on airguns is great to see. I agree with most here though that rick gives a great honest take on the products and reports problems or issues to the public, instead of giving only the good info about the products. Rick gives facts not fluff, paul seems more like he is trying to "sell" the items, which is probly the case. That is likely what he is hired to do. Pauls videos have a more professional look and feel to them, and I really do appreciate that. Ricks production is not Bad, just not as good. I think that I like Teds videos better than both of these guys though actually lol.

I used to watch em both but soon started feeling like I was watching a commercial. I don't watch much TV and don't like commercials.
With that said if they bring more in to the hobby then good on them.

I've been waiting on commenting on this thread. they each bring new shooters into the folds, which is a great thing. Like a lot have pointed out, Paul's production quality is great. but i feel he never reviews anything he doesn't like, which makes me feel like he's selling and not reviewing. He dose walk you threw the features and plinks them a bit.
Rick also gets his demo guns from PA, but feel I'm actually watching a review and not a sales pitch. i want pros's and con's in a review. I think Rick is more forth coming with his reviews. Try and post a question on one of Ricks videos....he's answered all of the ones I've posted, and that goes a long way with me. so i like both and feel both are helping the AG community alot
i wish Rick would rejoin the fold of the GTA, and i wish Paul would pop bye to say hello more often.........my 2 cents Bart
