Lizzie,You dog! I've been looking for a 50 for a long time. I thought I had a trade worked out on one over at the Yellow and at the last minute the guy reneged. They aren't powerhouses but unique. If you ever decide to sell let me know. I'll gladly double your money! LOLCongrats on a great find!Andy
Now that beats all. You have done lucked into another cool old gun. Congratulations.Richard
What caliber did you get? Mine's a .22. No real powerhouse but accurate and feels like you're holding a K98 Mauser. ... I haven't torn mine down all of the way but can give you some tips if you want to pull it out of the stock. Not a straight forward process. I'm sure, if it's like the one you referenced, it will need some oil for the leather piston seal. Just open the tap, plunk in a few drops, roll it shut and stand on the butt. Yes, pictures, by all means! And, if you snagged one with those sights, I'm jealous!
where are you located lizzie? hehehehe i'm thinking road trip....Bart
What, and have a fight break out over one of these bargains? I'm sure we'd lose.
Sweet find, ill tell you how to load it if you let me have it not sure if yours has a lever release button like my mod 50 t01 but pull down lever like you would a barrel cocker til latched then return, next flip open the tap ( the little lever on top) and drop a pellet in the hole in head first.lots of info on the 50 at this link http://www.network54.com/Forum/405945/ gotta love those tap loaders
Another great find Liz! amazing radar you have there. That stock has about as pretty a line to it as any i've ever seen, as said it looks reminiscent of a mauser military design. The schnabel tip on the forearm really sets it off. I don't see how you could set it in a corner, if it were mine it would be getting sanded down right NOW . Lucky and fortunate find for sure J
Is your barrel tapped for a front sight or dovetailed? I will have to look at mine. I think it's an earlier gun since it has a simple rear sight and no provision for a peep. Some bozo tried to add a scope rail which I will eventually take off. Looks like he silver soldered it on and it's useless, as is. Bubba or one of his sons.I might not live near you, Liz, but I think we are getting your Texas weather.Oh, and the .22 will not be a powerhouse. These are big guns but must not be very efficient designs.
