RWS34 Scope Issue

OK - I just put a decent RWS scope on my D34 (.22), and used the one piece leapers droop compensating mount. I have an indoor 10 meter range. I get dime size holes in my targets with this setup and scope adjusted.
With my old scope and rings, shooting across the yard, it hits higher on the target (expected). My question is, on my old scope, I was maybe only 1 1/2 inches over center. With the new scope and droop mount, I'm now almost 6" high for the same distance.
Is the droop scope mount overkill ? (yes - arrow on mount is facing forward) Do I have something set up wrong ? Windage is dead on. No changes there at all with distance changes. Shots all still grouping well, just all a lot higher.

what if we removed all the warning labels, and let nature take it's course?

Hmmm
Anyone with an explanation of what to do to correct ? Shim the front ring ? Will this put undue pressure on the scope ? Or is it better to just get a new mount ?

I would try a shim under the front mount. Some use electrician's tape and some use a piece of a aluminum can, I can comment on either because I have not had this situation. If you loosen both mounts and place the shim under one and then re-tighten both I don't believe there would be any undo pressure placed on your scope.
Hope this helps.

Would it be practical (or even possible) to just mount your new scope on your old rings? It sounds as though that would require less shimming. The other option would be adjustable rings.

Try it without the droop mount.
I recently came into a early 90s 48 and when I added a scope started with the UTG droop mount and it shot really high just like yours.
I remounted with a regular 1 piece base and it worked perfect, no crazy adjustments to get it sighted and the scope sits nice and low (not so with the droop mount and low rings).

I'm with PMC
It's not doing what you need with new scope. REMOVE IT!
Different scopes are different. There dopliers work differently. Older mechanisms in some scopes loose elevation when wind age is out of center. Farther out to sides you go less elevation is avalible.
I have been playing musical scopes on my 2200 reciently and found that my Bushness did not have enough elevation so I mounted a Hawke and it was fine. BUT I nemeses the Hawke for another gun so I mounted a 6x42 scope. It too was just fine but being a CF PB scope did not focus at the close sub 25 yard distances. SO I bought another Hawke! This time a 4x32AO. It is perfect BUT the elevation is very close to it's extreme adjustment. But it works and that's my point different scopes different results.
Good luck!

Have you tried to zero it at 25 yards and then going back to 10 and see how it is?

Ok - I just back back into the country from a business trip. I did trim a piece of aluminum soda can and placed it under the front scope mount. It shot about 6" low at 10 meters at that point. (expected this) A few shots later I had it zero'd again. At that point I had to catch my flight.
I'm going to try and work in some time this week to see how it's firing now at different yardages. I'll update with my findings as soon as I get some shots off. Thanks for all the suggestions and help !
