I am sure this probably been said before but it won't hurt to say it again.
I was looking at the front sight on my 2289 today, and noticed it was not vertical so I straightened it and when I did I saw the barrel pivot to the right, i checked again and sure enough it was moving, it would move fore and aft as well. I centered it and tightened the barrel band screw and now it is solid. I don't know if that screw loosens up over time, I will check it after I shoot the next time.

Here's my solution to a loose front-end on a 2289 (thanks to another forum member who turned me onto the Chavka band), knock off the OEM front sight, install a TKO and a Chavka barrel band with solid pin.

Ok I will try again this is the fourth time I have tried to post this, if no this time I give up.
I don't have the funds to buy the good stuff so I make my own I made a 12 inch shroud for my 2240 today
out of 1/2 inch plastic water pipe. It works too it softens the sound, I don't think it is quieter but the crack is diminished noticeably I tried to post the pics but they are toooooooo big so I will do some later to post.
Yes George I checked that little *&%$&(**&%R%WW screw.( No comment family forum)

I used half inch PVC water pipe on the barrel of my M4-177 seen here:
The best part was it was free. Found a section laying outside at my daughter's place. Works great!

Yeh George
The free part is the best, the end cap is a plumbing adapter and I covered it with heat shrink tubing, lazy way, no painting, and no wasting time for paint to dry and no picking it up too soon and getting stuck to it
