bent/kinked barrel affect on accuracy/consistency?

This might be a dumb question....
How much would a bent barrel affect consistent shot placement? I would think as long as the last 4-6" were straight, its should be okay. I'm concerned about affects to the pellet flight path.
I have a month old Nitro Venom. It was shooting awesome prior to early July. At some point, it started to shoot 6-8" high. Puzzled, I re-zeroed the scope but it would shoot very erratically after that. Each time out, I'd get great groupings for 20 rounds, then all over the place.
Two to 3 days ago, I decided it needed a good internal breakdown and lube because I interpreted the symptoms as a piston seal lubrication problem. So I also decided to clean it all up. In looking down the barrel, I could clearly see that it was bent. It was not that way when I received it.
Turns out my wife fessed up to stepping on its box at one point in early July out of carelessness. I had placed the rifle in its box and laid it on the floor in the back of our home-office to keep it out of sight of some young relatives. She recalls stepping on the box thinking it was empty. My bad, her bad.
Anyway, I tried to bend it back using the CDT barrel bending jig and that fixed most of the warp, but the real bend occurs just at the joint where the barrel and the hinge block mate. Its sort of a tiny kink of sorts. You can see the joint line when you look down the barrel and can see that at that point there is change in direction. I pushed a pellet through the barrel and can feel a bit of resistance at that point. Not bad, but its there. Its very smooth the rest of the way. I think its as good as I can get it, but am wondering if anyone has any experience with pellets out of bent barrels? I'd test it myself, but my order of moly paste is not here yet and the rifle is disassembled until I get it.
My next recourse, if this does not pan out, is to order a new barrel assembly from Crosman. On the other hand, my wife feels bad enough, I could probably justify just buying a new RWS 34 (or some other step-up rifle)
. Meanwhile, I'm out of commission.
Any sage advice for a rookie?
Thanks
Tony

If it is a good shooting barrel and your using a good pellet within it .... Soft Bends make NO DIFFERENCE !!
Beeman for Many Years would purposelessly BEND barrels to correct for droop, many of us still do this practice

Good question.... FWB obviously don't think it makes too much difference....
The last inch or so, and the crown, are apparently the important bit....

The "erratic" part bothers me. If you get consistent groups anywhere you can bend the barrel or adjust the scope to put them where you want them. If the kink is bad enough you can't get consistent groups I think you're out of luck.
I understand a new barrel is about $16 from Crosman, so it's not the end of the world. If I were placing the order I'd probably order a metal trigger guard at the same time. The Nitro Venom uses plastic, the Benjamin Regal used metal. The plastic is brittle and will break if stressed.

If it were mine I would order a new barrel, and a dozen roses. The Venom good shooter and worth keeping. Cool your wife stepped up and said "oups" sounds like worth keeping too !

I found some Crosman RMC Oil, lubed the piston seal and piston, reassembled the rifle and fire 80-90 rounds through it. Seems to be back to what it was. Getting dime & nickle sized 5-shot groups at 30 ft and quarter-size groups at 45 ft in windy conditions. I'd like to do better than that with more practice, but I'm happy with that. I know I can hit a ground squirrel or rabbit with that.
When the moly paste arrives in a day or two, I'll re-lube with that.
So I chalk up the erratic shooting to lack of following Crosman's maintenance instructions about dropping in a drop of RMC oil every couple hundred rounds. I think the piston was just getting dry. I think moly paste is the better answer though.
Thanks for the advice guys!
