What happened to my new .25 Mrod?

It was double boxed and both where beat up from a couple days on the UPS truck. This gun came from Paintball Discounters via Amazon.com. I would have not been to happy if I didn't pay only $69.90. Of course I normally order from PA (they don't have Mrods listed on amazon).







Now to get rid of all the junk I don't need.

I have a few modifications to do before she will be ready to go. Including getting rid of that little .25 caliber...

Yes, after $400 worth of gift cards. Someone works on the road to much and needed to trade in there hotel points. I do have my work cut out for me. I have a few power mods to do and maybe lighten up the stock. Of course I still have to fit the barrel and cut a mold for ammo.

No. It is aluminum. That would be an easy way to shed some weight if it where. It just has some odd finish on it. It isn't anodized. I suspect to make it easier to identify the .25 valve from the .177 and .22 valve during assembly. I have never pulled my .22 valve out but from what I have seen of it, it is unfinished aluminum.

Another difference is that the .25 has a flow through bolt.

What are you going to conver it to?  A .308?

It's a possibility. I have a couple of .308 blanks on hand. I already have a 6.8mm barrel rough profiled for a Marauder though.

My schedule is hectic right now. I hope to have time to work on this some Friday or Monday. Right now I'm going to hit the shower and then the sack as I've been working all day then went hunting and just got in.

Hopefully I'll find the secret to unlocking some real power out of this system.

Bad news. The .25 Mrod breech is set up for a .495 OD barrel versus the .22 which takes a .435 OD barrel.

This means I have a 6.8mm barrel that can only be fit to a .22 Mrod or Disco. Unless I want to make another breech.

The good news is that I do not have to bore out the breech to fit a .308 barrel.

Decision time!

I would go for the .308 for sure since it fits your breech.
