familiar.  Might this be where all those BAM40's got off to?

Let's see their price as compare to Mike's.

Now I know why Mike Melick could not get any B40's from the Bam factory

they cut him OFF because there was an arrangement with Crosman for this production run

after ALL Mike has done for this company introducing their products in the USA

and specially this COPY

would anyone know about this little GEM if Mike did not promote it in the first place??

when they DESTROY all the Mike's in the world with a personal service between him and the customer

YOU WILL HAVE TO PRESS 1 for English, PRESS 2 for Spanish; "PLEASE WAIT UNTIL WE GET YOU THE NEXT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE"

good luck with that scenario

warren

and remember "it's 30% the shooter and 70% the gun"

It's called the MAV 77 Underlever Air Rifle. 8.7 lbs, 3-9x32mm, .177, spring action. I'm guessing it comes with the normal "1000 fps" spring. Says it has a two stage trigger too.

Warren,

Do you have any proof of that?  Maybe Mike could shed some light on it?  From what I have read elsewhere there is a new version of the B40 out and they do not really look like these ones crosman has.

Regardless of what it is and where it came from, it's a nice looking air rifle. I'm curious about it's performance capabilities.

The blog posting from Crosman says MSRP is going to be $530.  At that price it better be more than a re-branded B40.

The TX200 is only $39 more than this copy.  I owned a B40 that I bought new from MM for a $240 and at that price it was the best bargain in airguns.  I would say that if this new Crosman is the B40, and if some minor improvements have been made, then it would be a good deal at $300 or less, maybe $350 with a Centerpoint scope included.

However, once you're talking about $500, I think most folks will find their way to the TX200.  $530 for a TX200 clone or $569 for the real deal.  Hmmm, I know which I would pick.

Now, if they would have added the NP gas ram and really have the quality topnotch then I could see it being in the $400-425 range with a scope.  This assumes that the trigger is still the great B40 trigger.

Ya, it had better be a TX200 without checkering and a plain beech stock for that price.

I have been kicking myself for not getting a B40 in .22 cal.  Guess I will have to continue kicking for a while until Crosman puts a .22 barrel on it.

Just a thought here but I think the msrp is just that, a suggested retail price and the actual retail price will be more in line with the cost of a B40. So probably $250-$300. Before we all hang Crosman lets realize that msrp and retail aren't the same thing

Compare retail to MSRP of some of their other guns though.  It is definitely NOT a 50% difference, more like 25%.  I used the Benjamin Trail Hardwood compared with PA price as an example, in case anyone wants to check my math.  That would bring the $530 down to $405.  Still too much for a B40.

Yes, the new Benjamin underlever rifle is a clearly a development of the original B40/B41. Crosman claim improvements over the original BAM version, but the gun obviously will be a BAM-manufactured product.

As for the price, the $530 MAY have been a typo and possibly should be $350. That would seem to be more appropriate.

$530 translates, near as dangit, to the same price we'd pay for a brand new genuine TX200 here in the UK. if they can sell the copy for half the price of the genuine article, they're in with a chance. If not, they may well price themselves out of the market

I agree... if they can sell that thing for more than 300 then that will appreciate all our B40s out here in the real world. And truly, what improvements does a gun that Air Arms has left unchanged for 21 years??? I for one will not buy one as long as I can't get it through Mr. Melick. So Mike, if you do get one even used, let me know...
