i just got a new from wally world[walmart]and keep reading where gp means lower power then i read only if its a crosman not benjamin??? anyway i shot a douglas fir 2x4 at 30 feet and the pellet [crosman premier hollow point .22] went in the 2x4 about 3/4 inch. i dont have a croney but dang that seems awfulley powerful. im waiting for a grt III trigger and hope it works as nice as the 1 i put in my quest 1000 . but somebody set my mind at ease please.

What was the velocity listed on the box?

I know there were two (and perhaps still are) versions of the Crosman Titan, both were labeled GP, but designated Lower Velocity on the low power version.

I don't know if there are two versions of the Benjamin Titan.

The .22 Benji Titan GP is just a rebadged Crosman Titan NP. Crosman made two versions of the Crosman Titan; a Titan NP and a Titan GP. The Crosman Titan GP was lower velocity.

The velocity of 950 fps that's listed on the box is with alloy (light weight) pellets. The actual velocity I measured with my Chrony for 14.3 gn RWS Meisterkugln is about 750. Everything from the weight of the pellet to the thickness and length of the skirt to the head diameter affects the velocity. My CPHP 14.3 gn were doing about 720 fps. I'll test them again after I replace the piston seal. It was nicked and dinged from the factory (as usual).

There is only one version of the Benji Titan GP.

The Benji Titan GP is the same velocity as the Crosman Titan NP. We've had a number of posts in the Crosman gate on this already, starting last July when they introduced the Wal*Mart Benji Titan GP. I bought one when they came out in July and installed the GRT III trigger. I absolutely love this rifle. It's much smoother than my springer and much more controllable.

I can assure you that it's identical to the Crosman NP in every way except for the name that's on the receiver.

The lower velocity Crosman Titan has the model number CR-C7M22NP. I think the regular version has an "8" where the "7" is (in the model number.)

well it hits hard ,but its my first .22 except for a crosman 400 co2 power . as hard as it shot makes me wonder if some got mislabeled.i know about heaverier weifgt and bore doin more damage on impact but this gun seems to hit like a .22 long pb. when a grtIII gets here i belive we are goin to become great friends as i really like how deep the pellet went in the wood. last night had a possum in a tree where the porch lite lit him well enough for the scope so i shot him a head shot through the head clean kill, he fell and shook for a second or 2 but had to get rid of him this morning,he was still where he fell.thanks for the input guys. oh i put on a variable ag rated scope , better that the center point and as i shoot accuracy gets better as can be expected with the crappy factory trigger.bob did his home work well on those triggers as the 1 in my quest totally changed it . hurry up mail need that trigger. i thought about robbin it and my daughter got kinda huffy as she laid claim on my quest. thats mainly why i got the benji

hate to inform people but the gp has nothing to do with lower velocity i bought my titan gp from pa over a year and a half ago and it shoots 950 fps the titan that is a lower velocity version is the same air gun as the titan gp only with a differant as ram that runs a differant pressure. i personally have not seen a titan not labled with the gp and all titans are nitro piston guns as far as i know

The only way to tell if you have the lower power titan is to check the model number as posted above, my titan gp from walart shoots 730fps with cphp 14.3 gr pellets, and it stated nonlead pellets at 950 fps on the box. havent tried those cause i here they damage the piston.

yes .22 cal. the model number is the only way to know for sure. or if it says 950 fps on the box its not the lower velocity version.

guess mine is higher velocity as the box stated 950 with light pellets. as my rule of thumb if a light pellet produces this ammount then i always figgure 200 less with lead 7-8 grain pellets

mine says  950 in big letters but in fine print it has 950 with alloy pellets and came with a centerpoint 4x32 that i didnt install instead i installed a bushnell varible power i accuried from a gunshow new in the box and glad i did better field of view and much clearer. guy was selling airguns was sold out all but the scope he cut a deal i couldnt refuse so i put it to work. but hope they arent a white elephant after we use them for a 1000+ shots!!!

The only way to tell on these is to chronograph them.  PA sold (may still sell) the Crosman in two power levels.  I believe they are NP and GP, high/low, respectively.  The GP designation may, indeed, indicate the lower powered piston.

i contacted crosman today and ask about the benji titan gp its the same gun as a crosman nitro full power not reduced. walmart ordered them marked gp for some top secret reason.now the mystery is solved and i know why it hits so hard

Your gonna love that trigger once you get it dialed.

I have one on my Titan  Lower veloctiy GP ....Just love it.
BTW: HCAirgunner is correct about the model numbers.... I had to go out of my way to get a LV model. So I don't think anybody is gonna get one by mistake.

Enjoy & Happy Shootin!

THIS IS FOR THE .22 cal versions.

If you go to crosman manual site the part number for the Titan GP is C8M22NP, The Titan GP Low Power is C7M22NP.  These model numbers show up on the left side of the breach above the serial number.  I assume the GP stands for Gas Poston

The benjiman Titan GP part number is BW8M22NP In the instructions they show that the low power is BW7M22NP.  Again the part number is on the left side of the breach above the serial number.  I assume the NP stands for Nitrogen Piston.

Does this make it perfectly clear?  lol
