I just ordered a Crosman Phantom break barrel rifle. I have never owned a break barrel, and hear great things about these Phantoms. I hear they are superb for the price! Excited to try it out. It's supposedly rated at 1200 fps (depending on pellet)?! excited to get it and try her out!

You're right....if you get a good one, they're very accurate and pretty powerful.

Just got it today!! WOW that was FAST shipping! Kudos to Amazon! Havent had a chance to shoot it yet, but it sure is an impressive rifle! It just oozes quality, both look and feel. Feels quite heavy. Cant wait to sight it in. I wanna eventually get a decent cheap scope for it. Leapers?

Outstanding deal! I would say, clean the barrel and get some cheap mid weight pellets to break it in then you can try a few different brands to see what has the best groups. i think i used RWS SD in my G1.

yeah, definetly clean that barrel. I broke mine in with some destroyer x pellets. mine loves gamo red fire ,i can hit a quarter at 20 yards every shot. I take head shots on nutters out to 40 yrds... centerpoint 3-9x32 mildot scope ill. r/g reticle, i got at dicks for $40 on sale. and i put a one piece scope mount on it.

Great gun for the price !!!!

Stick with the average weight pellets: 7.5 to 9 grain weight.

Dome pellets usually have the best accuracy. CPHP (Crosman Premier Hollow Points...If you didn't know that), RWS Superdome, Beeman FTS (Field Target Special) and Gamo Hunter works well in most air rifles. You'll need to experiment and find what's best for your air rifle.

my phantom is the older model,shoots cphp's at 980 all day long,dime 15 yard groups open sights.
couldnt get good groups scoped though.
over 3k rounds fired.....flawless operation,loves cphp's,gamo tomohawks,gamo red fires.
dropped a bunny at 80 yards,headshot open sights.

Shot my Phantom..... twice in my backyard. First thoughts, it is VERYYYYY powerful! Quite a recoil kick also. Lastly why I have only shot it twice, it is LOUD!! Man the thing is loud. Sounds like im shooting a .22 LR rifle. not worthy cause I dont know how or when I can ever shoot this thing with how loud it is. Im sure the neighbors would call the cops on me if I keep shooting it, thinking Im shooting a real gun.

get a tko brake or make one,i fabbed up one for mine.
redirrect the sound in a different dirrection.
my phantom hit 980 after 2k rounds,very accurate with open sights.

a brake or air stripper simply re-dirrects the sound of your guns air leaving the barrel,so that your target or surrounding neibors dont get alearted of your shots.
it just simply works!
it is not a s....word in any way.
also known as an ldc.

but a springer will be a noise maker reguardless of what you add to it.the sound of the piston comming to a sudden stop will always be there,maybe a lube job/minor tune willl help.
the older phantom will always be on my top 10 list for power,reliability,easy of use,parts avalibility.its a b19 platform....one of the most coppied platforms out there,aftermarket parts are everywhere and easy to get!
in my opinion the b19 platform is the most popular platform out there,most versitile,most upgradeable.

i would contact tko and ask what he has to offer for the crosman phantom/quest/storm...ect!

those first few shots are dieseling...hence the loudness...it will get a bit quieter...but it still makes a bit of noise...and they do hit pretty hard...some nice power for sure.

If you can, go away from where you live into a open area and shoot a good 100 rounds. You will see your gun will become much quieter.
